I have been a member for almost 10 years now and decided it was finally time to start a build thread since I have started performing more and more mods and joined an off road club. This would not have be possible without the wealth of knowledge this forum has provided. SO big props to toyota-4runner.org!!

I will continue to edit this tread until I get caught up on all the previous work.

I will start with the latest mod I have done. The replacement leather seats. The covers were done by Custom Upholstery, Automotive Interiors, Boat Seats, Motorcycle and I could not have been happier with the results. I replaced all the foam in the drivers seat and the leather top and bottom of both front seats. All together it took about 3 hours and was not difficult at all. Bruce supplied the hog rings and hog ring pliers to attach the leather to the seat frame.

The leather fits perfect, is snug, and feels better quality then the factory. The seat backs have the pocket too. The seat is so firm now and comfortable. I hate that I waited so long to install them. Out with the old torn seats, in with the new.

The part numbers for the foam are..

71551-35050

I believe these part numbers will fit both drivers and passengers seats.

It was the best match to the factory tinted windows in the back.

Interesting. My old 97's factory tint was just shy of 20%.

Teaser.....

Shrockworks bumper arrived today. I immediately took it to paint. I was going to do it myself with rattle can but it is too cold here to paint. This bumper is beafy and is going to look great. I went with the regular bumper with center hoop and no light guards. I wanted the center hoop but didn't want the one that leans forward. This one matches the lines of the grill and leans slightly back. Stoked.

So my leather steering wheel was worn out and I did not want a cover. I found a post on Yotatech.com about a guy from FL named Alan Gun who does interiors and he offers a replacement leather wrap. You can find them on ebay. You must remove the original leather to install. He offers a pre-stitched or you sew up version. Both have to be sewn on but the pre-stitched offers an easier route. It still took me about 2 hours with the pre-sewn option. I could not be happier with the results.
