There should be a star wheel to turn to adjust the shoe contact. I'd start there first like everyone has suggested. The shitty part is, if you need new e brake shoes, the rotor has to come off. It's just more work than should be, but I guess that is relative. Could always be worse :/

Did she set the parking break somewhere before she drove it with it on? I gotta wonder. She could have called you to ask what was wrong.

Let her take it to the dealer for service. Make sure she has her checkbook with her. Then again, you may want to hear what the service manager has to say.

Whenever my wife suggests she drive my new 4Runner I ask her if she's read the manual yet. :tape2:

My wife used to set the parking brake in our flat driveway, which is gravel. She said her dad always taught her to do that (Jersey girl) but that was over 30 years ago. I told her she couldn't push the car on flat gravel if she tried. She finally stopped setting the brake at home. When I drive her Nissan Ultima she always reminds me to release the parking brake because it's different than my 1995 Jeep. Not that I get more than a foot without realizing it's set...

My thoughts exactly. The RR is disposable.

I did that one myself on our old John Deere "M" tractor. Burned up the brakes pretty badly by driving it around with the parking brake on.

Mine flew in too when my son was born for a couple months. Cars were fine but she wrecked the garbage disposal. She refused to put food in it as she thought it would break, but thought paper towels were ok? WTF! LOL.

We fly to THEM from now on!

Your rear disc brakes have an old school drum brake inside that serves as your parking brake. Drive around with that brake still on and you burn up the shoes and overheat the drum/rotor.
