Here is my latest interior mod. Changing the dash colors is something I did with my 4th gen a few years ago. It is quite a bit more challenging with the 5th gen but the results were definitely worth it.
Thats cool! How did you do it?
Put this on the what did you do today thread a while back, but is also an interior mod. since the pic, I added two more loops and have been carrying 7 rods every weekend without any issues. Love it!!!!
What did you buy for this setup? Looks sweet!
2 vehicle clothes rods from wally world and 1 12' roll of 1" velcro that has hook on one side and loop on the other. $30 total. Been using it every weekend with 7 rods and works great so far! Love not having to break rods down!
Heres a couple photos. After you route it through that rubber grommet you can pull the headliner down slightly and guide the cable down to the left to the jack compartment.

i have almost the same setup. the rod looks exactly the same, made by BELL, the people that make bike helmets, etc., but mine has two metal loops on the ends so it hangs down further off the clothing hooks on either side. i put my rods on the top of the clothing rod and wedge the butt of the rods against the ceiling where it curves down a bit. keeps them in place perfectly.
I originally went that route, with the rods on top of the back clothes bar, but for my setup with carrying 7 rods, it was hard to angle the rod enough to get it off the top of the clothes bar without sliding the other rods around. Maybe because mine don't hang down that far without the metal loops? I tried really hard to make that work. I even had the ends of the clothes bar rigged up to be able to lower the whole thing to pull a rod straight out at one point. that was a PITA, so I went the KISS (keep it simple stupid) route with the velcro. Now I can pull one rod straight out if needed without shifting the other rods around. When they were on top, they were less "swingy", but that hasn't really caused me any issues. I fish every weekend, freshwater and saltwater, so I have light and heavy fresh and salt rods ready to go depending on where I stop to fish. tight lines!
