lets see your interior mods

I am perfectly knowledgable of tires and treadwear. The tires say to fill to 80psi but I only fill to 50 to 55psi and they are flat to the ground with a flat bulge to the ground so i know they are not overinflated just by looking at them.

I know tires, I would never over inflate my tires. I have a very flat profile of tread on the ground. Thats why if I go much lower I would start getting more wear on the outsides of the tread and make even more noise and lose more MPG

The tires don't say to fill to 80psi. That is the MAX inflation based on the MAX load.

I had 60,000 miles on my last set and they looked perfect when I replaced them with no uneven treadwear. There is more than psi to factor when airing tires. The weight of the vehicle and accessories also dictate tread to ground contact

You put 60k miles on the last set on your 2018 4runner? Another 5th gen 4runner, or a completely different vehice (10,000 lb dodge ram cummins truck you mentioned above)?

55 psi on that truck makes sense. 55 psi on a <5,000 lb 5th gen 4runner with E rated 33s does not.

With all due respect, I'm not going to continue this conversation. I know I am not over inflated and that I have nice even tread wear. I am a skilled and knowledgeable mechanic and technician and know the facts and specs. Thank you

What happened to the interior mods?

I'm currently run 32 psi on my 03 Tacoma rolling on Toyo Open Country ATs E rated 275/70/18s.

Different tire manufactures recommendations do vary,
I see T4R family points made here.

I DO trust more of what my reputable Discount Tire shop recommends, they always have done a stellar job balancing and rotating my boots every 10k. This is my 2nd set at 70k miles and I have more than half the thread life left. They feel superb on the Houston dry and wet pavements.

If 50s is bearable for that set, so be it. HAPPY New Year!

yeah we have gotten off topic but that reminds im not even sure what PSI im supposed to be running. I have BFG KO2 in 285/70r17. I bought a used 16 with a bunch of mods on it.

Today i swapped my boring clock in my 2018 to the full display of the 2014 using OLD RED's custom swap harness, I'm happy with it. Also shows instructions on the screen for using crawl control and the settings

this is the thread for the swap

Where did you end up getting the part? I've seen plenty of the older orange ones but haven't been able to find a blue one...

Yea the blue is near impossible to find, I just bit the bullet and bought it new from online dealer site for $350

(If I'm remembering correctly) that's because the blue multi-function was only available on the 2014 models. Up until 2013 it was orange, and then they discontinued it entirely with the 2015 models.

Yep, I think that's the deal. I'm going to be patient I see if I can snag one for $40.

im glad I made this thread. I bought those tuffskins inserts and I think they are totally worth 25 bucks. looks much better than the cheap flat plastic. facebook actually led me to which CB I want, luckily everyone who modifys their truck has some form of Toyota. a midland fits right over the clock and looks pretty nice. but I still haven't finished putting on all the shit I bought on black Friday.
