I'm pretty sure the ARB either comes with a crush can or re-locates the existing. I think ARB is the only bumper that is airbag tested as well.

Not all bumper companies take this into consideration with the exception of ARB. They provide brackets designed to collapse during a front end collision. I only have personal experience with Shrockworks in that they do not use brackets with a crumple zone. So if everything were equal, the airbags would certainly deploy earlier with a Shrockworks bumper than they would with an ARB.

ARB calls it "airbag approved" I think. What exactly that means I don't know, but I can say for sure that they do have the crush cans that mount the bumper to the body.
That is the worst news ever lol!
Maybe if there is a high demand they could mock one up.
As of now, I can buy a bumper, but it cant be shipped APO so im in a pickle... Unless a company has a bolt together bumper and is willing to ship it in pieces.

I built my own. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/189373-2015-tep-hidden-winch-build-install.html you can get a good idea of how installation works. Any welding shop can modify for a limited.
The clutch is easy tor reach from under the hood. You'll want to remote the solenoid control somewhere. Wireless is great but I wouldn't rely on it solely. Its easy to remote mount the wiring.
You will lose some of the crush zone. You want a winch. That's part of the deal. The frame mounts have crush zones that remain. I don't know enough about the airbag triggers to know how much removing an aluminum bumper and putting in a steel one does.

One could say the same thing about yours. I've been stuck in mud and high centered in areas where I would never need armor.
As for ARB, they don't make a bumper for the 14-15.

I think this is a fair point. Most winches like most high lift jacks, driving lights, lifts, sliders, roof racks, etc. are just used for show.
Otoh I could make the same argument about the 5th gen as a vehicle. A winch required trail in a 5th gen is often just a ranch road on a snowy or muddy day to me. In my trail rig its probably still 2wd. But the reality is that I drive the 4runmer most of the time and I use the winch a lot. And often its for skidding trees, moving cars etc. I find there are many uses for a winch if you spend time in rural areas. For me its become the first thing I put on my vehicles. If you want it for show, a hidden winch isn't a great choice.

Really. You think most hi lift jacks on 5th gens have ever - even once - been used? I don't. In fact I'd bet if we took a sample half of them that are bolted on to a roof rack wouldn't work well because they haven't been lubed and a pretty decent percent of owners may not even know how to reverse direction on them.
And the point was to a comment that seemed to be claiming that if you really wanted to go offroad you'd put an ARB or similar front bumper on. As if that would somehow make a meaningful difference.

It's none of your business if any use their hi lift daily, never use at all or just use it to beat annoying pigeons to a pulp. In other words, mind your own business and stop worrying about how others spend thier money.

Didn't know it was such a touchy subject. I can probably teach you how to use one for when you get high centered on the mall parking strip.

Can you tell me more about your setup? What modifications did you make to your suspension? How did it affect the rest of your rig? Also, what kind of winch did you use? (Apologies for all the questions)

Here's what I can say. I have a Pelfrey's mount with a Superwinch Talon 9500 Synthetic rope and with new Bilstein 6112 on the second groove it left a nice rake of maybe just under an inch. Fast forward 9 months and the rake got to be too much for my liking. Now I am trading on a 17 so I took the winch and mount off and while still having the 6112's on it, it has the perfect rake for my taste. When I get the 17 I'll be putting this winch set up back on with the 6112 on the third groove.

I'm trading it on a 2017 model.
I should add that I'm going up a tire size and replacing the upper control arms as well as being prepared to add a small rear spacer if the front comes up to high on the third groove.
