Don't all bumpers replace them though?
I'm pretty sure the ARB either comes with a crush can or re-locates the existing. I think ARB is the only bumper that is airbag tested as well.

Lightning fast reply from them, but not the one I was hoping for, re 14+ LE.
Wondering if someone seriously considering this bumper really needs a winch?

Yeah yeah. It sucks off road for real trails. We get it.Otoh I could make the same argument about the 5th gen as a vehicle. A winch required trail in a 5th gen is often just a ranch road on a snowy or muddy day to me. In my trail rig its probably still 2wd.
I think this is a fair point. Most winches like most high lift jacks, driving lights, lifts, sliders, roof racks, etc. are just used for show. .
If they changed the definition of 'fair' to mean stupid then I agree.
Really. You think most hi lift jacks on 5th gens have ever - even once - been used? I don't. In fact I'd bet if we took a sample half of them that are bolted on to a roof rack wouldn't work well because they haven't been lubed and a pretty decent percent of owners may not even know how to reverse direction on them.
And the point was to a comment that seemed to be claiming that if you really wanted to go offroad you'd put an ARB or similar front bumper on. As if that would somehow make a meaningful difference.
Yes really. As in really stupid. And frankly I don't give a damn about your elitist judgemental BS. It's none of your business if any use their hi lift daily, never use at all or just use it to beat annoying pigeons to a pulp. In other words, mind your own business and stop worrying about how others spend thier money.
I like the HWS as well...anyone know if the extra weight of the mount and winch require stiffening the front suspension?[/QUOTE
For my 16 Trail yes.
I'm trading it on a 2017 model. Please excuse my ignorance, but I don't know what "trading on a 17" means. Help?
