I think this would be too high... Typically you want something like the cornfed leveling kit which includes 1/2" spacers. 2" lift in the front would give you a "nose in the air" look.

They say 1.25" but I have to assume that is the size of the spacer and not the amount of lift obtained from them.

There is a ton of good info on this board regarding spacer lifts. I found T4R.org when I did a google search looking to level my '04. After reading every thread on here about lifts I went with the Cornfed front leveling kit which is actually a 1/2" pre-load spacer. It gave me 1.25" of lift and just enough to make the nose-down stance less visible.

The 885 springs will put the truck over level. They will also increase the spring rate more than a spacer. The Daystar spacer in the above pic is around 3/4" and will not change the spring rate. There is also a Daystar preload spacer that is about a 1/2" thick and will firm the ride slightly. Both spacers will give about 1.25" of lift. If you want to lose some body role and brake dive then use a preload spacer. If you think the ride is just right use the top spacer. The Daystar spacers are only $59 and alot of dealers use them to just level vehicles.

I installed the Daystar spacers on my 4Runner they gave the front exactly 2" of lift. It looks great.trdracing5 said:

Are those the spacers you installed already? I read your other thread about the noise your 4Runner is making after the spacer installation.
Keep in mind that the amount of lift will be double that of the spacer. So if your spacer is 1 inch thick, you'll end up with 2 inches of lift. How thick are the Daystar spacers? Did you actually install them yet?
If I were you, I wouldn't mess around with different springs/spring rates. You'll end up changing the ride of your 4Runner for sure. Just install the spacers correctly and be done with it.

Here is my simplistic take on it. A preload spacer mounts between the spring and the top plate. This essentially reduces the space where the spring sits by the thickness of the spacer. This causes more force on the spring (load) and pushes the vehicle up to counteract the additional force.
A top-out spacer just changes the mount point of the spring/strut to achieve the lift.
I'm sure someone on here has a better technical explanation.
