License Plate frames

My 04 4runner is galactic Grey mica. What color license plate frame would go great with it. Black or silver/chrome? Does anyone have a cool license plate frame (please be sure to block out license plate ###)?

I got a black one i picked up from kragen autoparts. Its just black but also has a glass plate covering the license. Which gives it a very clean look on my black 4runner.

I have a stainless steel diamond plate one. I love it and it has lasted many years and through a few trucks.

I posted a picture of it a long time ago. I will search my posts and see if I can find the pic.

Looks good to me. If I didn't already go through the effort to paint mine, I'd probably copy you or get a custom frame saying something to do with T4R.ORG and maybe my username.

My 4Runner is Strat Mica---OK< it's just deep metallic blue. I hate those fru fru names--reminds me of teh women's cosmetics counter----watermelon blush (has there ever been a blushing watermelon? OK< 'nuff of this rant.....

Deep blue metallic blue. My rear license plate frame is bright polished gold with my law school in gold. My front plate has blue UC Santa Barbara in white letters on blue background. See, UCSB's colors are Blue and Gold.

Here in Delaware you can order historic tags (not thru Dept. Motor Vehicles) in black porcelane as long as digit under 86000 (or something like that). Love the black on black - no frame required.

Nice. Another Gaucho on the forum and representing on the streets. I'm actually in SB right now because my girlfriend is up here finishing her degree.

barkley89: I'm completely jealous. I totally wish I had a black plate. I don't think there is any way of doing that in Cali. Maybe I can trade my Dad for his '67 Mustang's black w/ yellow letter plate.

Why is everyone so afraid to show license plate numbers??

I used to post pictures with my plate numbers covered just because everyone else did it.... but now I just post the pictures with the plate numbers showing.

People see my plate every day on the road, in parking lots etc... Why should I worry about people seeing it here??

I just purchased a set of TRD black crome (casted) frames, from the dealer, that really nice. I have never seen them anywhere else. I will take picture this weekend and post it. These frames are pricey.

Has anybody come across a plain stainless brushed aluminum looking plate cover on line anywhere? I've got the "all too common" Titanium Sport and I think it would look a lot better than the standard black or chrome one. I just haven't been able to find one ANYWHERE? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I found this black metal "frame" for my plate at PepBoys...it doesnt go over the tag...the tag sits in it it gives a nice border, but doesnt make a border IN the tags area itself

I used self adhesive weather tape that I used when I installed a window unit air conditioner in my apartment *hehe*...its like a roll of tape, but padded and sticky on one side...I lined the underside of the black tag holder with the 'padding' so there is NO rattle at all...plus my TRD license plate screws add a nice touch

Sorry it took so long to post. These frames cost $39 each. I got them from the Stealer. They are actually black chrome; it's hard to see in the picture.
