Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

Here's my new setup.

1. Bilstein 5100's, OME 885 front coils + 1/4" topout spacer, OEM rear air bags adjusted for 2" rear lift, also have 1/2" 4crawer body lift for a total of 4" of lift
2. 285/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's on stock wheels, plus Spidertrax 1.25" spacers.
3. Love the setup. The OME's are a little stiff over bumps, but they make it completely flat in turns and no dive when braking, worth the trade off for me.

Looks AMAZING...question could you fit a 295/70/17 or would you be rubbing?

Thanks! Strictly guessing, I think they would clear, the only issue being the body mount. With 295s, you'd have to do the body mount chop as I am barely clearing with the 285s. I probably need to do it because I bet there will be some minor contact when flexed.

To start with, I'm totally new to suspension....

But after seeing all the "Lift and Tire Central Pics", I decided that I really wanted to go with a Daystar 2.5/1.5.

The list price for this on Amazon is $160.

I decided to try out "Supreme Suspensions" an Ebay based company. I purchased the front "coil spring spacer kit" (2.5") for $65 bucks.

Then for the rear, I purchased the Daystar 1.5" Rear Coil Spring Spacer Kit from Amazon.com. $44 bucks.

SO..... same kind of spacers, but different brands. Together $110. Saves you $50 bucks.

Haven't got them yet, but hopefully Supreme Suspensions won't let me down.

EDIT*****
Do Coil Spacers cause your springs to wear out faster?

I found a 1" coil spacer at AutoZone for $5 and the guy there said it was the same thing as a Daystar spacer kit. He said both would "Change the angle of the arm and put increased wear on the tires and springs." Is he re****ed? Or is there some truth to this?

No, he's not. You need an alignment after the lift or you will wear out your tires faster. Basically with a taller suspension it puts more distance between the shock tower and lower control arm so your tires are at more of an angle. I may have explained that wrong, but that's what I noticed when I put my Old Man Emu lift on. The alignment corrects this. The toytec site recommends camber be set to zero and toe .04 degrees.

You won't really wear out your springs any faster. The spacers just sit on top of them. If it were me, I would have just payed the extra 50 bucks for the daystar though for my own peace of mind.

bilstein 5100 at 1.75" lift, 2.5" actual lift. Stock springs.
General Grabber HTS tires
I think the nose is too high, should have set the bilstiens at 0.85"

see in my Member picture albums:
thoughts??

Doesn't look terrible. what's the front/back measurement?

From ground to fender is 36" for every wheel, so i think its even but not sure its level. The front end seems a bit high, or i am seeing things?

Cant seem to figure out how to add photos here, help please?

Adjusted my front coilovers to get a little more clearance. No more rubbing and the ride is still pretty good.

What's up fellas! Here are some pics of my 05 Runner. Been lurking on here for a while, and finally decided to post some pics. Runner has been lifted since 2006. Thinking of switching to an Icon lift. No problems with the Donahoe setup. I have no complaints. Just want to switch things up. Only problem I am experiencing now is my tires rubbing the front body mount right behind the front tire. Previously had on 285/70/17 and never rubbed. I can adjust my lift to go up another .5-1", just need to put the time aside. Pics are from when I first had the new wheel sets put on.

Debating a 1" body lift. Can anyone with a body lift on your Runner tell me some pro's and con's?

Just installed Supreme Suspensions 2.5" Front, Daystar 1.5" Back

Let me say that the Strut Spacer in the front (rather than a coil spacer) was a royal pain in the a$$. Had to disconnect the lower control arm and still struggling to get the third (rear) bolt into the top of the strut.

I will definitely be looking into Bilsteins and Toytec/OME Coils

Since you mentioned this, is there any real easy or easier way to get the rear bolt off the top of the strut?
