Yeah, I've looked at about all 10,000 combinations and still can't decide. Also, has anybody order the Toytec coilovers that you assemble yourself for $200 less? Is it an easy install or should i spend the extra money?

I guess my situation is slightly different but here goes.

I needed new top hats, so I had to factor that cost in. 80 bucks shipped a pair from rock auto, 3/4" lift spacers from TT + new bolts - 66 + 165 for springs from TT shipped, let's call that 260 (~30 shipping and thats on the low end). Then we have ~200 for the front billies comes to 460 total + headache (maybe more with shipping and top hats and then 20 bucks for a bushing kit etc.) and the insecurity of not being sure I had everything

Or 600 shipped (with forum discount) for the assembled 5100 set at .85 + eibach springs + alum. top hat all easily assembled, seemed like a no brainer to me.

I also need to install these ASAP and have the rush of finals so the convenience was worth it to me for the extra 75-100 bucks or whatever it came out to be.

If it were a different situation, maybe I would have gone with the fully adjustable c/o collars + a 5100 shock, which could have come out to 6-700 or so, but I've heard that those ride stiffer than the other options and take some cranking to get to 3" of lift. Tough call, i feel your pain.

I have the same setup ready to go on this weekend. I saw another guy on here that did the same thing who said that his was nose high, so he ended up adding a 1.5" spacer to the rear. It is reassuring to see that yours turned out so well. I will post up pics as well.

I have OME 886 and superflexs with bilstiens all the way around and 886 ride surprisingly well with the v6 and it supports the ARB and winch really well and I'm sitting 38 1/2 inches with the 275/70/17. ill post a side shot tomorrow in the day light

Here's my 05 sr5 V6 with a rancho quicklift in front, new 9000xls in back. and some factory takeoff fj rear springs ($50). total is about $650 and I didn't have to change any springs :roll:

tires are 265/70/17 wintertracks from les schwalb.

...I'm curious if this billstein obsessed forum is going to make fun of my ranchos?

It is funny you bring up Ranchos(As I used to use them in the 80s and 90s). I believe I used the RS5000 series which was very popular at the time. Besides, I liked the way the red went/looked against my blue truck, which I used on my '87. But yeah it looks nice and level on yours.. :reddance:

No one will make fun of you. Historically Rancho has a mixed history. I have them on my Ford SuperDuty and can't wait to remove them.

As long as you like them, that is what matters. :thumb:

I've run a few rancho rigs and never had problems...but I understand some folks don't like em...and the 5000 series is pretty soft for drivin' around town.

But I used this forum when searching for different lift options and had a hard time finding anyone running rancho (hard as it I didn't). It actually kinda motivated me to try something different.

I did an ome on a 87 4runner a few years back, and frankly, that was my favorite suspension set up ever. I would have like to do OME with this rig, but I was anxious to remove the stock suspension and liked the idea of a little lower lift.

I'm really happy with the way this rides...a little stiffer in the back, but I use this to tow other toys regularly and the higher spring rate keeps it nice and tight when towing.

yeah the 87 wasn't a wheelin truck.. it was my DD, while my TT Supra was my play toy.

Lift consists of OME 90000 front struts with OME 885 coils, stock FJ rear springs with Daystar 1.5 inch spacers and Airlift airbags.
