I'd swap to bilsteins with the toytec springs. They ride better than stock and you get actual articulation and improved suspension instead of just adding spacers and making your ride worse.

Torn if I want to use the Daystar 2.5/1.5 or the Toytec 3". Plan on getting bigger tires a little later, running Pirelli Scorpion ATR 265/70/17 now. Not sure of what the total look would be. Any suggestions?
Currently at 32
It would look good with the 265/70/17's and some black wheels, whether it be plastidip or different wheels!
The real question is if you're going to actually wheel it or if you're just lifting for looks. If you're going for looks, do the daystar. If you want performance, do the toytec and 5100's. And take out your sway bar while you're in there![]()
I'm looking at putting BFG T/A KO 285/70/17 under it and want to make sure I have enough clearance without cutting to much out...
Good luck with that... most of us have been there, done that - and we all had to lift/chop/cut/pinch/modify to some degree to fit a 285 series tire. It's not hard work getting them to fit, but it does take some modifications to clear everything properly.
Good luck!
I am torn on which lift to use for a little more lift all around. Looking at the Daystar 2.5 front / 1.5 back, or the Toytec 3". I do plan to put bigger tires at a later date and still want to be able to keep a decent ride. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I see that your signature states that you already have billies 5100's. Just buy superflex coils for the rear and ome 884 coils for the front.--->3" FJ Lift w/ front & rear coils
I did not want to start a thread to ask this question. I just installed Kings front and rear and don't plan on adding custom bumpers. Do I need a Hi Lift jack, and if so, what points on the vehicle can I use to jack it up?
I started thinking about it and realized I don't know what I will do if I get a flat!!!
Do you need a Hi-Lift? I don't think so. If you don't have sliders, I've got no idea where you'd lift from if you don't get bumpers. Maybe from the hitch receiver in the rear if you have one.
I've used the stock jack to pick up mine as well as other lifted 4Runners many times. And I own a Hi Lift! That thing goes up a lot higher than you think. It has like 3 telescoping sections on it. Just takes some smart placement or a block to stack it on. I've used it on flat ground to push the front LCA up and get the tire up that way or from where the front diff bracket mounts to the frame. Both low points on the truck. In the rear you can place it under the axle tube near the tire you want to lift. Just be careful and be smart. Hope that helps.

I have sliders (and a bumper on the way) - I use my hi lift for maintenance and find it very user friendly, you just have to be careful it doesn't turn into a guillotine you you dont drop your truck. For the rear, you can also use the trailer hitch. Overall, i'm really glad I have the thing. Saved my ass on a trail once when the stock jack couldnt get my truck high enough to get my broken rear sway bar off (and it never want back on)
I hate mine. It's sketchy as all get out and has dropped my truck more times than I care to mention. It has saved me on the trail once, so it has it's place. Use it for maintenance? Hell no!! That's why I've got floor jacks and lift access if I need it.
Sidebar, how's life without a rear sway? I don't think Bobby is missing his at all. I've been thinking about getting a single disco set of links from the dude selling them here.
So I should have included this in my last post, but I have access to street parking and live on the 3rd floor of a walk up, so lugging my 80 lb floor jack around sucks and the hi lift will go on the roof of my truck permanently, hence why I like using it for maintenance. I also would never recommend working without stands (with any jack) but especially with the death trap hi lift. I also have a slider adapter that helps stabilize it a little. SO my situation is definitely unique. :ranger:

IDK - I honestly can't tell a huge difference. Maybe it's a bit tippier? but I'm not taking turns at 100 mph on a track. I might try and put the rear back on with extended links so it isn't limiting my articulation. I had 2 bolts break in the brackets on the frame so I took an air hammer to the welded nuts and will be replacing them with a standard nut/bolt if I ever stop being lazy and get the sway back on
