- Cooper Discoverer A/T3 265/65R18

So the TRD center cap fit without any problem from the dust cap for the front wheels?

No problem at all... they just pop right in. These are the Toyota-specific wheels that became available earlier this year. Dustin at FN Wheels hooked up the Toyota crowd with some awesome hub-centric wheels with centers that are specifically machined to accept the TRD center caps.

My Lift/ Tire combo

Thanks to this forum for all the help in me completing this; I lurk. Took a long time to get the info I wanted, hope this helps.

Lift:
Bilstein 5100 all around
Front coils OME 885, set at "0" or stock position on struts.
Icon/toytec/ eibach 2" rears (confirmed by the toytec folks that they are all the same coil).
Firestone air bags.

Tires:
LT 255/75/17
Cooper S/T Maxx

Pre-lift:all measurements from ground to fender, stock size rubber (~135k mi. X-REAS)

FD:33 1/8 FP: 33 3/8 RD: 35 5/16 RP: 35 5/8

Post lift, stock rubber

FD: 36 5/16 FP: 36 9/16 RD: 38 11/16 RP: 38 3/4

Post lift, after some driving and new tires:

FD: 37 1/8 FP: 37 1/2 RD: 39 1/16 RP: 39 1/2

Love the results. Took it off road a little bit, feels more truck-like. On road, slightly stiffer than stock. Tires are new so don't have a lot of experience with them yet, but I like them so far. No too loud on the road at highway speeds.

Airbags give about 1/4-1/2 in lift, but really are great for when pulling a trailer.

I need some help. I knew the fit would be tight with stock rims but looks like I need rims with an offset. Rubbing he frame when turning into parking spaces. Any recommendations?

BFG AT 285 70R17


I may be looking at selling my current stock limited wheels so I can buy wheels with a -6 or -10 offset. 17x7.5 powder coated black. If anyone is interested let me know.

Im running grabbers 265/70/17.

Thanks I got bilsteins 5100 with 886 in front and superflex in rear. I'm thinking getting bigger tires and a body lift.

I just added the roll roof rack with custom fairing and personal drone if you are lost in the woods.

25 lb lift.

Help Choosing a Tire

I need help deciding what kind of tires are better for my truck.

I have a 4runner 2003 sport. Right now I have tires # P265/70R16 . Thats right R16.

I would like to switch back to the original R17 but I need new tires for that.
The idea of this is to lift the care a lil bit because it looks very low with the actual tires/rims.

Some people said to me that I should go with a P245/75R17 tires but in this thread I ve seen people with P265/70R17.

Whats the difference ?

Again I would like to help my 4runner to look a lil bit taller.
( I know that with a Lift Kit I would achieve that but right now $$ is not an option or someone tell me can I do a lift on a 03 4runner with R16? maybe it becomes an option)

Google search tire size calculator and on many of the sites you can punch in the tire sizes and they will give you the width, radius, etc. Thats the best way. As for the tires, the front number which has three digits is the width in mm. So a 245/75/17 is 246mm wide and the other you mentioned is 265mm wide. The second number isn't exactly the radius of the tire because you have to do some weird formula and I believe the second number is like a percentage of the amount of sidewall blah blah.. It's hard to explain. Basically, comparing a 245/75/17 and a 265/70/17 and the second tire is 20 mm wider but even though they both have the same second number, you do the math of the first and second number and then that makes the second tire taller. Long story short I'd go 265/70/17. sorry to ramble
