Do you have any rubbing running the 285s with the Daystar lift?

With the front bumper trimmed and the fender liner pushed in, I still rub the front fender liner slightly when backing into my driveway. Looks like I might have to trim the liner, or holdout until I get Icons or Radflos Haven't noticed any rubbing on the body mount.

Do you clear the UCAs?

I'm finally getting my 03 ready for off road. I went with the Biltsteins all around with the front set at 2.5 and 2 inch Toytec Super Flex in the rear. Still has the rake but I'm good with it. I put 4 new 236/85/16 (32's) Cooper St Maxx tires on and headed for the Nevada desert after taking the floorboards off. I'm very happy with the set up now. Handles great and looks a lot better than stock.

That's an interesting tire size.

Where do you put your feet without floorboards?

Do you like the ST Maxx?

Well......maybe not floorboards...runningboards work? LOL!

I've got about 1200 miles on the tires now and so far, so good. The tire guy tried to talk me out of them. He said Cooper has changed their compound and I may not get very good mileage out of them. I just liked them and thought with the weight of the truck being light and the tires 10 ply with 3 ply sidewalls, I'd get 25,000 or so out of them.

I ran them through deep mud and rocks for about 250 miles out in the desert and did not spin a wheel. They're quite enough for me on the highway. I like 'em so far.

2003 Limited 2wd V6

--Removed running boards,
--Ripped out blown X-REAS system
--Replaced with Bilstein 5100 (0.85 setting up front)
--MOOG FJ Coils 81108 & 81081

Looks great. BFG Rugged Terrain (stock size).

Before: (w/ running boards, blown out 157k miles X-REAS)

After: (Bilstein 5100 all around, 0.85 setting, Moog FJ Springs)

Would this set up create a level or rake look?:
Bilstein 5100s all around
Front coils being eibach 620 w/ bilstein at 2.5
Rear coils being OME 886

Took a shot before walking off to work.

after scrolling and scrolling through this thread i found your post and this is the exact suspension set up i want for the front. but in the back i would like bilstein 5100s with OME 886 coils

How is the ride?

The 886 won't fit in the back, the 886 is a front spring. If you are thinking about the 896 fir the rear the Bilstein 5100 won't be enough damper for that spring.

The ride up front for me feels a bit firm even with a v8.

what do you mean it won't be enough damper for the spring?

Bilstein 5100 dampers are designed to operate within 10-15% of stock spring rates. The 895 is the medium duty (260#, 40% stiffer than stock). The 896 is the heavy duty version (318#, 75% stiffer).

The 895 is under damped with the 5100's. lots of people use that combo but in reality many people don't know how properly balanced suspension could feel. Price clouds opinions sometimes (both at the high & low end)

If the ride up front after coil over installation is rough get entended sway bar links and or disconnects or remove them all together you will see a major difference and with my v6 and no end links it has little to no sway once I add wench and bumper it will ride perfect

so the OME nitrocharger shock would be the better way to go in the rear?
