Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

i am running spidertraxx and just the 1" spacer that netted me about 2" of lift up front. i put on 265/65/18s and rubbed the mudflap and fender liner. i moved the fender liner forward and ended up cutting the mud flap in half to clear. you can't tell anything has been cut or moved when looking at it.

with your lift, you may just rub the liner and need to move it forward a bit. that takes all of about 5 minutes per side.

255/75/17 will fit with minimal rubbing on the 2.5/1.5. once you add the wheel spacers and move the wheel/tire outward, it will more than likely contact the fender well and mudflap more

I have this exact tire size with no lift and ABSOLUTELY NO RUBBING AT ALL!!!

Now, if I add Spidertrax (which i plan to) it may rub a little. As far as i can tell, the 255/75r17 is the largest conventional tire size that will fit without rubbing. Each tire wont have exactly the same diameter, even with the same "size"...but my Firestones are considered 32.1" whereas the Duratracs are a 32". Yes, small difference, but a difference nonetheless.

Nothing special. Just put on some Sport wheels and SpiderTrax.

Before: 16" Tacoma wheels w/ 265/75/16's.

After: 17" Sports w/ 265/65/17's and 1.25" Spiders.

Thanks to bthbama and jsmith21 for help on my questions, and huge thanks to everyone in this forum...I've been jealously reading it for almost four years, and I've finally done my mods!

While I have the Daystar installed now, here are pictures from before, just to compare stock suspension, but with different tires. 4th gen SR5 wheels, no lift, no spacers

Stock, Bridgestone Dueler H/T 265/65/17:

255/75/17 Duratracs. Really emphasizes the factory rake, but I had no rubbing at all.

So I'm looking into getting about a 3" lift for my 02, what exactly would I need? I was doing some searching and found that 7 wrap LCs are a good spring, but I think I should be lookin 4 new shocks and 4 springs. My budgets around $600 any suggestions? :smile:

Ive been waiting for actual pictures of the new bfg a/t. it looks awesome! ive been waiting for these and the new toyo r/t's to make my decision. i do like the look of the new bfg's. i can tell you this. my nittos have the scalloped biting edges and man that particular function works friggin awesome.
