Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

superman3043 The rig is at the shop right now... I'm waiting for the word so I can come get it the hell away from them! Haha yeah I should have known from the start when I told the guy that I installed it myself that they were going to d**k me around.. I had a sneaking suspicion. You're correct. Caster, camber, toe; top to bottom.

My buddy said the same thing.. Too bad I didn't have an alignment station I would have done it myself! I have no idea on how any of it could have been so out of spec following their adjustments.

1) I jacked the lower control arm up until I got the rig high enough for Jack stands.

2) I placed the jack stand under the front side of the frame

3) I lowered the Jack under the lower control arm.

4) I removed sway bar end links

5) I unmounted the sway bar

6) I removed the lower shock mount bolt

7) I removed the 3 upper shock mount retaining bolts

8) I removed the two bolts holding The lower ball joint from the spindle (I believe that's the correct wordage)

8a) I lowered the shock through the gap I had created by dismounting the sway bar and removing the two bolts from spindle

9) I used coil spring compressor to compress and remove stock coil

10) I used the coil spring compressor on the OME885 and reseated it on the Bilstein5100 at the lowest setting

11) I used a pry bar to press down on the lower control arm enough to reinsert the OME885 into the lower shock mount.

12) I reattached the upper shock mount bolts

13) I jacked up the lower control arm so I could get the proper angle to reattach the two bottom bolts to the spindle from the LBJ.

14) I reattached sway bar with sway bar relocate spacer

15) i repeated the same steps for both sides

16) I installed the diff drop spacers

17) I installed my Metal Tech LT rear coils and bumpstop relocates (no issue with those).

That is about it!

I think I covered all the bases. Thanks for the help and input guys! It's much appreciated to know I'm not completely crazy and that this whole ordeal has been a s*** show. Haha

So the only true suspension component you disco'd was the LBJ cradle. No tie rods, no LCA's, no UCA or UBJ's. That is my preferred method as well. So I don't really see how anything could have gone wrong. Especially since the numbers looked good when you went in. They really dicked this one up. Well keep us posted. Good luck. We don't have Big O or Les Schwaub around here to my knowledge... Thank goodness.

Good to see a picture of your Icon rear resi's. I thought my lines might be a little tight and wasn't exactly sure where I wanted to mount them, yours looks exactly like mine though.

Beautiful rig!! One of the best colors on Earth and uber clean. I love your setup as well. I am trying to save up for a full 3/2 and 275s right now but school keeps trying to take away from my fun truck money.

New to the 4runner life...love it so far!

Got the Toytec Boss kit, at preset settings.

Purchased and installed at Tandem Automotive in the DFW area.
Really great guys that know their stuff. They specialize on offroad. Either way I'm loving the ride.

It was a really smooth install and I waited for it to be done there. Got my alignment from Toyota today, and it wasn't able to be 100% corrected but its close.

Wheel tire combo is from a 15' Trail.

Hello guys, I'm new to this website and I've been reading a lot about other t4r lifts. I bought my 06 T4R limted 4wd 2 months ago and want to do about a 2 inch lift w/o using any coil spacer and just want to do coils and bilstien 5100. I don't want to do a full 3in lift and buy bigger tires.

How big are your spacers? Nice rig

Thanks bud. There were spacers already on the front FJ coils when I got them (used) and on the rear factory 4Runner springs. My guess is that it had the original coils all the way around and they were so worn out that I didn't even realize it had any kind of lift on it. I don't know for certain but if I had to guess, I'd say they're probably about 2" in the front and maybe 1-1.5" in the rear. I'd like to get rid of them but they're paid for and installed. Maybe next year....

Nothing special here. Thinking of removing the mud flaps in the front and rear, not that it rubs. But maybe a better look?
