Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

I bit on the Memorial Day promo sale from Discount Tire last weekend and snatched up some KO2's. I settled on the 265/70/17s and think it looks pretty good.

Hello, new here. Picked up a 2006 V6 Runner earlier this year. Put the 3" Lift W/ Bilstein 5100 Front Coilovers in, and had 275/70/17 BFG AT's installed on the stock rims. Have had interference twice, and hear some rubbing at hard turns while in reverse.... I based my selection on the research done on the site and assumed that I wouldn't need to body mount chop with this setup. Thoughts?

Pretty much guarantee needing a bmc with tires that size. It's pretty simple really, don't sweat it bud, just cut it.

Are you sure it is body mount and not the front inner fender? Just double checking.

He don't need no BMc..He still has damn mud flaps on his rig!!! Why would he jump straight to thinking BMc when he still has mud flaps, which means he hasn't done anything inner fender liners ...nothing but slap some larger tires on and "um I did some research on here before making my decision and assumed I read everything correct" what did you do skip the part about needing to do some modification for correct fitment and clearance? Step 1 REMOVE MUD FLAPS!!! Any size larger than stock...

I'm over stock size (okay, by a hair) and I don't rub on mud flaps. I wouldn't start with mud flaps, although I'm not saying he won't have to remove them. I would start with inner wheel wells, move that plastic forward. And will probably have to shave back that curled lip at the bottom of the fender, inside on the front. It's soft, I shaved mine back with a sharp knife. I had rubbing there in reverse at full lock with my old stock size tires after I did the lift even, got worse with bigger tires.

And there I was thinking I was all smart and would figure this out! Good job at looking into the picture more!
dinoDNA take off your flaps, the BM is prob a good 1.5-2 inch behind the flaps! Remove flaps removes your problem!

More lift! Haha
Seriously though, I must be getting slow...

Hey all, so actually that picture is from when I first got back from the shop. The mud flaps were taken off at first rub, and I still encounter the issue. Is there a good way (with one person) to determine if it is indeed the body mount?

Back against a curb, turn the wheels, leave in reverse and get out to see where it's hitting.
Also, it should leave rub marks at some point.

Oh Ya, that's the most common spot. I was assuming you had already pulled that forward. My bad! Lol
Is there a definitive write-up on this? Looks like there are various methods but I am not finding much in the way of pictures before I start hacking.

When I did mine I had seen pics from someone's build thread but I couldn't begin to tell you who now. The lowest part, that triangle piece that hangs down there, has some holes. I cut in front of those holes taking out excess material, then used the holes to run zip ties through and after pulling it forward zipped it up tight. I've since chopped it out completely due to bigger tires and such.

I always liked the idea of spraying a bright colored plasti dip in there and then see where the dip gets rubbed away. Just a thought.
