3rd notch would be 1.75", i believe 2.5" is the highest. So i'm guessing im pretty close to 2.75" in total lift.

Coils are always better then a spacer lift. At least you're getting performance added on. Not just a spacer with the stock springs.
Do you get any rubbing on this? Looks fantastic!

Not sure If this is the right thread for this question but, I'm thinking of getting some BF Goodrich All-Terrains. Does anyone have them? If so can you speak for road noise and fuel reduction?

i have a questions for those with the 5100 and fj springs/moogs.
i know some of you guys have a spacer on the driver side front to fix the lean, but why not just use the 3rd notch on that side and 2nd notch on pass side to balance it? like the 5th gen trd pro, driver side is a notch above and the pass side stays the same.
im liking my setup so far at the second notch on both sides, i also run moog fj springs.

Finally... OME springs & shocks, BFG T/A KO2 255/75/17
I can haz post in here now?! About sprained my knee getting out of it first time after new tires...Needless to say It was more lift than I expected coming off very tired springs and tires.
Stock XREAS gone after spraying me in the face yesterday. OME 885 (medium) coils and 9000 sport shocks up front with top plate spacer (1/2" i think? forgot to measure).
OME 895 rear coils & 60004 shocks.
New BFG all terrain T/A KO2's in 255/75/17 (for C-load, wish so many sizes weren't E-load only), making skinny tires great again #MSTGA.
Spidertrax spacers since I didn't go too wide with the tires and wanted to push the "skinnies" out a bit more.
In closely related news, I'll be starting a go fund me page to pay for some armor and also things like food and mortgage payments now...... But couldn't be happier. Just got it done yesterday, had the shoes and alignment (and brakes...including 2 new calipers up front, I figured they were shot, common frozen piston problem) done today. Yay, amex points?
Only about 10 miles on it so far but the ride is great - stiffer but in a good way. A tiny bit of play in the steering but it's such a drastic change w/ tires and shocks/springs at same time, I'm surprised it doesn't feel more different.
I'm hoping the rear doesn't settle much, maybe should've gone without the front top plates. CV's are a bit steeper than I'd like, anyone know if the fronts will settle any w/ V8? The above pic is on a bit of an incline but yeah, probably should've gone without front spacer. Oh well, guess i just have to lift the back more! Update: Front mud flaps are gone, lol. They probably would've removed themselves pretty soon anyway - a u-turn got them stuck flipped-up against the tire, made a gnarly sound. That's a cool auto-eject feature. Still a small amount of rubbing in reverse at near full lock, not sure on what yet, gotta clean up garage and look into it tonight. Hoping it's the front liner that I can just re-drill and move forward a bit. Didn't expect so much with 32" tires but I guess that's what you get with spacers.

Sorry for the late reply. I did. I took off the front mud flaps and now it just rubs on the front liners. Only in reverse at a decent angle. I don't care enough to push them forward as I'm installing a demello bumper on a couple weeks.

Just got this '04 4runner with 145,000. I wasn't too worried about the mileage because from all my research, these things run forever..
I am taking a cross-country road trip in 2 months with it and am real excited. I love the look, but want to make a couple of improvements.
Wanted to get this forums' thoughts... if you had $1000-$2000 to put into it, what would you do to this truck?

If you are doing it yourself, then 1000-2000 could go a long way, if a shop does it, then I assume you are looking at half the cost going into labor. Maybe I am wrong, I would put my money on a set of new AT tires (if you are planning on doing some offroading in ur trip), I believe without the lift, you can fit 267/70/17, and since a road trip will need room for luggage and stuff, either a roof rack with box, or a trailer hitch rack with box, will save you a lot of trunk/cabin space. Then I would strongly suggest have a trusted shop do a thorough inspection and fix whatever little problems that may be a trouble on the road, oh, replacing to a new battery may also be a good choice, other than that, save the money for traveling, or lift is needed.
Edit:
Just realized that you already have discovery at3 on it, so as long as the tires still good, no need to upgrade on tires. Maybe get the same model spare tire if you haven't?

The tires have a good amount of tread left, so I am going to leave them on for the trip.
As far as lift, thinking it'll be pricey in terms of parts, labor, maintenance, and limiting gas mileage on a 3k-4k mile trip.
My uncle and I are building a box-platform for storage extending from front seats to tailgate and then a thick pillow-top mattress over it. (Definitely gonna need it as I am moving from NY to San Diego). My thought with the platform was to hopefully avoid getting the roof-box which will cut down my mpg's. Might drape some sheets from front to back along the rear side windows also to serve as a "basket" and double as privacy. Got a female friend from spain flying in to join on the adventure so the long-drive companionship aspect is covered!
Lastly, there is a decent amount of rust underneath, nothing structurally compromising, but it's definitely there. Is there a way to get rid of any of that or at least protect for the future?
This is my 1st 4runner, and first truck for that matter and the thing runs solid, strong engine, and just feels tight. Taking it to mechanic on Thursday for a complete tune up for all those "little" things you mentioned I'd want taken care of for the trip.
Wasn't sure if I'd get a response on that post, very much appreciated!

For the OME, I went with the 884 springs and Nitrocharger Sport Shocks up front, and 895 springs (medium) and 60004 Nitrocharger Sport Shocks out back.
Between the lift and the slightly bigger tires, I gained a solid 4-inches of lift in the front and almost 4-inches in the back. Very happy with this. The first time I jumped out of the truck after driving it home I almost fell because I wasn't used to the height. Actually laughed out loud from it.
I see you're in Jersey. If you're planning on doing a suspension lift for your T4R and don't want to do the work yourself, the guys at OK4WD up in Stewartsville are top notch and know what they're doing. No affiliation.

haha this is exactly what happened to me earlier this week w/ almost identical setup, i posted a page or 2 back. I'm still debating running board removal... Especially with no sliders in my near future, added height and my DS leather seat is already cracking and torn. Any regrets above removing them yet?

Catfish - I saw your Runner the other day and it looks good.
I removed my stock running boards soon after I bought my T4R, so I was used to not having them on and I liked the look. But now that she's lifted it's definitely more challenging to get in, and I'm a tall guy.
So, I bought a set of N-Fab running boards/steps that I'm going to install tonight/tomorrow morning, which I think look much better than the stock running boards. Stay tuned for more pics tomorrow...
