For the OME, I went with the 884 springs and Nitrocharger Sport Shocks up front, and 895 springs (medium) and 60004 Nitrocharger Sport Shocks out back.

Between the lift and the slightly bigger tires, I gained a solid 4-inches of lift in the front and almost 4-inches in the back. Very happy with this. The first time I jumped out of the truck after driving it home I almost fell because I wasn't used to the height. Actually laughed out loud from it.

I see you're in Jersey. If you're planning on doing a suspension lift for your T4R and don't want to do the work yourself, the guys at OK4WD up in Stewartsville are top notch and know what they're doing. No affiliation.

Cool, thanks for the info. Like I said it looks great! I'm leaning towards this lift when the time comes. For now I did the spacers. Did you change out your UCA's?

Side notes: Do you have any grease coming out of the CV boots? I had the grease issue from my CV boots after my little lift. Since you're in Jersey, I can hook you up with some of the awesome clamps I bought from McMaster Carr in the event you do see some grease oozing out the side. I removed the factory clamps, and installed the MC clamps. Cleared the problem right up.

Cross country trip..

Hey guys,

Just got this '04 4runner with 145,000. I wasn't too worried about the mileage because from all my research, these things run forever..

I am taking a cross-country road trip in 2 months with it and am real excited. I love the look, but want to make a couple of improvements.

Wanted to get this forums' thoughts... if you had $1000-$2000 to put into it, what would you do to this truck?

I wanted to go back to BFG T/A KO's because they were great on and off-road and lasted forever on my 3rd gen, was very disappointed to find so many sizes of KO2's only in E-load. So this is exactly why I went with 255/75/17 size - BFG offers it in C load.

Got myself some new 2017 TE wheels

Got these from a 17 TE owner, just a few miles on the wheels, very glad with the result!

The reason I have to go with these (15mm offset) is because my stock ones (30mm offset) does not have enough clearance for 275s to clear my UCA. And with these wheels, they are close but completely gone with rubbing.

I may reconsider the use of the BFGs after all...I've had them on other vehicles but they seem more expensive for the same options with other brands...perhaps there's a rhyme to the reason on with the cost...BFG offers better sizes that I'm looking for in the load ranges that are more appropriate to 4runners and use of said 4runners...it's the wife's ride, so comfort plays a higher role than if it were mine...

Yeah I went with them on 3rd gen in my younger years because they "looked cool" but I abused the heck out of them off road, job sites, etc., bought 5 and never had a flat in 6 years.

I went back to them this week when I finally lifted my 4th gen because I had 2 flats in as many years with Bridgestone Duellers, which I believe are the tires that came stock/recommended on '05 4runners and all its ever known. They were fine...until they went flat and almost as expensive.

I have the AT3's and absolutely love them. Killer in rain, and slush, and phenomenal on road characteristics. Had Nitto Terra's before this and these beat them without a doubt.

That's great to hear! How long have you had them on with how many miles? The issue I am having with the Toyo AT2s is that after 20k miles, they feel like I'm rocking inter-tubes in-lieu of tires...no traction, snowplowing when turning, blah blah blah...they also lost their self-cleaning abilities which makes me no longer a fan...they were comfortable until the tread started wearing off (~20k miles) and now they just plain suck!

So far so good for us in 265/65/18. Took them to big bend after about a month and they did really well in my opinion. For the price they are a good option. Not as aggressive as the ko2s unfortunately, but a bit cheaper.

I mean they're cool and tough but this commercial is probably where my dollars are going. Also, why did it go flat in the first place? oh well

I've got the new C-rated shoes aired up to 40, rides perfect, but with a V8 ltd taller tires a lift and mostly city driving, I wasn't expecting fuel economy. I'ms sure it's better that any E-load (ride and MPG-wise) or fatter tires though and I'm happy with the size - don't look skinny with spacers & beefy tread. I might go Cooper next time, haven't heard much bad about them but I'm still a single grown boy looking for a chick who digs aggressive BFG's I guess.

I've run about 27,000 miles on them, and traction is like the day I bought it. No complaints here. A little louder than they used to be, but i hardly notice.

Not sure If this is the right thread for this question but, I'm thinking of getting some BF Goodrich All-Terrains. Does anyone have them? If so can you speak for road noise and fuel reduction?

I have these tires in a 255/75R17 and I don't notice any road noise from them. Mind you I run studded winters and the noise on those don't even bother me. as far as fuel economy I did a lift and the tires are 32" not 30.6" so it did go down. I get about 520kms highway to a tank. Somewhere thereabouts anyways

Thanks. I did have rubbing. Just on the front mudflaps and front fender liner. Super easy fix. Removed the mud flaps and just dealt with the rubbing when reversing at angles. I literally just installed a front demello bumper so I'm sure my minor rubbing issues are over lol
