We went with toytec and the install was a breeze! I ended up not needing the steering extension but i did use the radiator drop brackets. Overall, i am very happy!

Is it safe to assume the 285/70/17 doesn't fit under the truck in the stock location?

You can run it in the stock location, but it will have to be aired down a lot to clear the track bar. If you don't have TPMS and also have on board air, it's an option.

Got ya. I have a 4th gen and 5th gen. I can tell you a 285, even a 295, fits under a 5th gen without issue. I assumed it would be the same under the 4th gen but I suppose I assumed wrong!

Looking at the detours of Maine hitch carrier, or potentially a NWTI weld together rear bumper. Decisions decisions. Will most likely be a spring purchase.

If it's a V8 it will not fit, even aired down.
I have the tire you are looking at, E load, love them. I run them at 28lb front, 26 rear. 255/80 17

2005 v8 4runner 6112/5160+3/4 spacer lift sport edition
I have a 2005 gen4 4runner v8 sport edition, gutted out the saggy X-reas at 225k miles, added 6112 in front with .5 stacked with .25 spacer to compensate driver side lean, also added icon Uca with delta joints, haven’t measured exactly but i feel like I achieved the full 3” lift up front maybe slightly more? and I measured with a ruler and both sides seems even as far as lean goes
. 5160’s in the rear with old man emu 2889 rear coil. Added some oem 20” limited wheels I got for a good deal they have new oem Yokohama tires but I really want to upgrade to all terrains 275/60/20 or bigger? Any suggestions on what I can fit on these 20” limited wheels for most aggressive lift max size? I’m willing to carve material in the fender area/frame if needed! Pics show with 265/65/17 Laredo cross country tour tires and then after the pics are with 245/60/2 limited wheels, Got the alignment and 20” limited wheels mounted and So far the ride is great, I love it car drives awesome! Firm, right responsive steering and body roll is minimal!

Has anyone had success running the Falken AT3W All Terrain 265/70r17's without having to trim or modify? I have a lift coming in at 2.5-2.75" (Depending if I bump the 5100's to the first notch), and 1.5" in the back (though I heard the Wheelers T12 yields closer to 2").
I don't have any tools nor do I know anyone in the area who could shave off any fender.
Other than the Falkens I thought I might be able to get away with the 255/75r17 Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 without any modifications.

You should be fine. Before I was lifted I ran General Grabber AT2s in that size and only rubbed a *tiny* bit at full lock. They're one of the larger tires so I'd think you'll be OK.
