Lift with 33s

Excited to let the mods begin. Used to be a jeep owner with 35s. Not gonna go quite as extreme with my new 2015 4runner. 4 wheel parts said they can do a 3 inch lift and fit 33s For only $1300. Plus 2k in wheels and tires of course.Never was a big 4 wheel parts fan though. Wondered if any of u have lifted yours yet. Thanks

Please don't let 4wheelparts rip you off on a crummy spacer lift for $1300
 
Yeah, $1300 for a spacer lift is an awful deal. Mine was a few hundy installed, but it'll be off soon and be replaced with a real lift, probably Icon. Save your cash and invest in a good one.

Toytec is local, stop by and see them. 4 Wheels parts sucks! I will never buy anything from them or have them install anything. A bunch of Jeep guys that have no clue what there doing or how to install something with quality workmanship in mind.

Yeah, Four Wheel Parts sucks. If you drive by the one here, it's nothing but brodozers in the parking lot.

Ya. 4 wheel parts did some sucky work for me years ago. I haven't heard of any suspension lifts for 2015 4runners. Guess I'll do some research. I might be good with a spacer lift for a while and 33s. Sold my jeep 5 years ago. Can't wait to get back on the trails.
 
You need to do some reading, but to get you on the right track...

- hundreds maybe thousands of lifted 5th gens here
- avoid 4wheel parts (they typically don't know anything about Toyotas)
- avoid a spacer lift
- probably need aftermarket UCAs with your lift to get it driving ideal
- Alignment with decent + caster dialed in is also important to avoid rubbing
- minor trimming of plastics and pushing the fender liner forward a bit is probably required.
- expect a decent drop in mpg (really depends on how aggressive you go with tires)
- stock rims are fine (if you go aftermarket, stick around 8" 4.5 backspacing). 17s are mandatory because of caliper clearance.

for $1300 get the bilstein 6112 fronts and the 5160 rears. That is what i would do at least. Bolt on and it is pretty much OEM with a adjustable front height.

hey man i noticed i have a very similar setup as your car. im thinking about getting 285/70/17 tires next. Do you have any rubbing problem with 33" wheels? or had to get a body chop?
 
Last we heard from this guy he was scheduled into the shop to have a cheapie lift and huge tires installed. I don't think it went very well.
