The liftgate on my stock 2012 SR5 rattles when ever I shut it. It sounded like it was the spoiler rattling. I first thought it was just lightweight materials flexing when it engaged the latch, but further investigation revealed that the bottom right side of the spoiler was contacting the liftgate and had worn through the paint. Based on that it appears to have been vibrating when I was driving, too.

I brought it to the dealers attention and they said that part of the felt kit between the spoiler and the lift gate had fallen out. The mechanic tried to tighten the bolts holding the spoiler down, but that the bolt was fully tightened. The only fix was to remove the spoiler and replace the one-piece felt spacer. He said that the kit was around $100 and was a two man job because there were wires etc. that ran to the spoiler.
Has anyone else had this issue with the liftgate? Is removing the liftgate spoiler truly a two man job?
It seems like the spacer should not have fallen out. I really did not want to pay $270 to replace it at the dealer. It seems like a warranty issue, especially since the dealer rep indicated that they had seen this issue and fixed it multiple times.
