Light Racing UCA Rust?

I'm definitely upgrading. Not mainly because of the rust, but because I've rebuilt them three times.

[MENTION=66300]Intruder[/MENTION] you sold me... I'll be getting some TC UCA's (with the stainless uniball) this summer while it's still warm enough to replace them.
I ran a set on my 2013 Tacoma for over a year and had no issues, so I order another set for my 'real' lift on my 4Runner and than ran across this post. I'll deal with it and after a few years go with different if I have an issue. I think a lot has to do with where you live and such. I'll take my gamble with them and see how they are. I'm sure there are several members who have ran them for a really long time with no problems. But they are less expensive and if they do give me a LOT of problem's i'll buy the ICON series.

Choose your words wisely when talking with them. I always spoke with them over the phone. Each time(3 times), I was able to get all of my parts at no cost what so ever. They were really good about it. Hope it works out for you

I'll choose my words carefully here, so as not to give a misrepresentation... But, to me, this speaks of the wrong choice of materials for the job at hand, and I would not be happy about it!
There is no such thing as "cheap" metal, unless we're talking about alloys from other shores that are not at all what they claim to be.
To my mind, a load bearing assembly such as this should be fabricated from an alloy such as one from the Chrome/Moly series. That alloy would never rust as these items show. Some light oxidation, perhaps, but nothing like this! So, at best, an inappropriate choice of materials to produce a product at a price point.
The welds look as though they leave something to be desired also, but I'm only judging from pics ..

I think you did fine
So far I have had 2 sets of the light racing arms and have been overall very happy . The design is great , the adjustability is unmatched but the quality of materials I guess could be better. I need that caster and have not found a arm that can match this one. I just accept the fact I have to change ball joints at aprox 30k . it is what it is. If I went Camburg and did the import moog ball joint how long do they last ? Maybe 60k at 2x cost to replace or inital 3x cost for OEM ball joints And how long will that last ? . The LR ball joints are a snap to change , the others require a press by someone that's more cost and more down time. they all have plus and minus but If you want a ball joint type arm , this is it for now.

Park, just so you know... I used to live in Oklahoma City. I only moved up to Michigan about 6 months ago. I doubt all of the rust accumulated over just 6 months in Michigan, but I never checked for rust on my UCA's while I was in OKC.
