Lighting question

Hey guys. I got a TRD Pro a few weeks ago and am currently 'accessorizing'. I've got a Rigid 40" | 30" | 2 Sets of D2.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the wiring? Should I get a larger or second batter?

Possibly one of those sPods?

Any suggestions would help.

Gonna get an sPod installed soon. From everything I know, it's the best decision you can make to keep everything neat, professional, and simple. It'll be easy to expand too.

I snagged the last PRO in California at a random dealership in Oakland a few weeks ago.

So far I put an EZ awn K9 on it. Tepui RTT.

On order is a few Rigids and a CBI Rear Bumper with Tire/Jerry Can mounts.

That stuff will get installed the first week of Jan, but I want to make sure I bring the off road shop everything they need.

Considering I'm going with 2 less D2s than you have, what did you do in terms of wiring? sPod + Bigger battery?

IMO the sPod is a waste of money if you have a little bit of proficiency with wiring. Get the bussmann relay box off ebay and switches from OTRATTW and save about 300 bucks. You shouldn't need an extra battery unless you plan on leaving them on for long periods of time without the car running. An extra battery is great but can get pretty expensive and chew up weight/space if you don't absolutely need it. If you plan on running a fridge, lights, compressor, etc it would be worthwhile but I have no problem running a good number of accessories with the factory battery. The most important advice I can give you is to make sure all those lights run off a relay and that you have good grounds throughout your setup.

[MENTION=131706]Dogtown[/MENTION] -- switches are already ordered from OTRATTW. I'll look at the bussmann on eBay. I'm not installing, I'm hanging a shop do it. I'm sure they'll be able to sort it out.

I would run them through a secondary fuseblock like was mentioned, use relays to turn on the actual lights and try to keep the wiring simple in case you ever have to diagnose it. Also make sure you use weather seals where ever it's going to be exposed under the hood or to the elements to protect against corrosion. I like to doodle a rough wiring diagram and do a rough draft of how I will run the wires with string or something similar before I cut up wiring and make the harness, saves time and makes things easier in the long run.

Hi I didn't go with the sPod but I did get a bigger battery. However, I got the bigger battery mainly for the Winch since it draws a lot of power. You don't necessarily need a bigger battery but it does help. Hope that helps.
