Lights OUT.... help... (not an LED thread)

(yes i did a search first)

ok heres the scoop. my roomate has a 2004 4runner, sport ed.

all her lights are out, no maps, no domes, no door lights. (dash still works, but half of the lcd display is out, but i dont think thats part of the problem, since that was out before the others stopped working, but i plan on changing that this weekend)

and well another friend of mine also has an 04 runner, and he had the same problem and through his research he told me he found out that the lights on toyotas are like christmas lights, if one goes they all go. (not sure if i believe that, but when he changed all his bulbs, he fixed it...)

but, since i did an led swap on all mine, and had all my original bulbs... last night i went through and swapped all of her bulbs out. and had no luck.:dammit:

anybody have any clue what it could be?:ybrick: and yes, the first thing we did was check and change the fuse.

dome light fuse in engine fuse box, check that first.

I have an 03 and my dome switch that changes the lights from door to on to off is really touchy...if you wiggle it just wrong all the dome lights go out... might be something to check. although mines and sr5 so i'm not sure if you have that switch on your sport edition though. Good luck.

Tried disconnecting all dome lights assembly? and connect it in trial and error. While wire terminals are open, manually test each(with volt meter) if there is really power...maybe one onf the dome light socket/switch assembly is short circuited causing other lamps not to lit.
