Limited door sensor and alarm not working

My alarm with not set from the key or the door handle and my auto unlock when I grab the front door handle w/ the key in my pocket stopped working today.

All I've done is take off both front door panels in an attempt (failed) to do some sound proofing.

Suggestions? Did I forget to re-attach something? Is it unrelated? Battery in my key going bad? etc.?

Several of these things happened when my battery in the fob died. Did you try the secondary fob to eliminate that?
 
My other on is dead. I keep forgetting to get a new battery.

Also, the fob will work to lock and unlock the door but not set the alarm. But the door will not unlock or lock if just touch the door handle.

Hi Neauxla,

Sounds like your FOB needs a new (CR-3032 or 3025) coin cell battery; I change mine bout every 4-6 months. Once that's done just hit the PANIC button RED)))) to test it, should be okay! Rgds
 
Why would it lock the door but not set the alarm? That doesn't make sense.

Last time my battery died, this didn't happen.

IIRC the door-lock and security ECUs may use two different antennas; fob battery may not have enough range to activate both. Or, you still may need to do a Main body ECU COMPU Master RESET. Once the fob battery has been replaced disconnect the truck's battery and leave it unconnected for a minimum of four hours... that'll put you back in business!

Man when mine started to go I thought Gremlins were really messing with me it did so many weird things. Start with TWO new batteries then see what happens.
 
I had the exact same issue after removing the door panel on my Unlimited . The dash would not indicate when the door was open. Also the seat adjust controls on the driver door would not allow you to change seat settings from driver one to driver two before inserting the key.

How did you fix it? Mine still isn't working after replacing batteries.

Remote works to unlock and lock but will not set alarm nor will door sensor work.

Dealer was stumped. They ended up having the truck for 10 days and replacing everything from the switch to the ECU. It was fixed for about a month and did it again. I haven't bothered with it since.

Not what I want to hear. So you don't set your alarm anymore? I cannot live w/o my keyless entry! :sobbing:

Uh oh, you might want to go ahead and send [MENTION=83083]rigtec[/MENTION] a case of his favorite beer, $h1t just got real in here.

Both sensors, driver and passenger are inoperative right? The rear roll down buttons still work? It would have to be something common to both doors you broke when taking off or something in the computer? Did you disconnect the battery overnight for a full reset yet? (Rigtec what is it 4hrs unplugged you always say?)

Just throwing out ideas...
