Limited Edition Mod Thread

I'm seeing more 2.5 inch lifts than 3 inch. Wondering if theres an issue with it and xreas.

I'm gonna go ahead and order my tires this month. Toyota is having their sale, and I can get 4 tires for 830 bucks installed. 285/70/17 size tires were going to run me 1100-1300 installed everywhere for BF's or Michelin's.

I remember there is an issue going with 3" an xreas but for the life of me can't remember. I'm sure a google search will tell you. I think you'll have alignment issues and extra stress on the struts because of how tall the leveling kit.

If you want 3" your probably better off replacing XREAS.

No experience with a limited/ xreas but above 2.5, you need UCAs and extra castor to keep it riding right at highway speed.

I’ve searched all over the place
The only truck I’ve see with is Unlimited.

Thinking i should return the 3 inch and get the 2.5

Castor is for the the wheel alignment and UCA - upper control arms. The UCA is probably stretched to the max vertically with a 3" spacer.

Okay thanks.
I did see an option on another lift for UCAs

I've now thought about this. If I were to rip out the Xreas, and do a full suspension, what route could I go for a less expensive lift. I could get front spacers to level it out, and do a 3(or 2) inch lift all around.

I installed a Toytec spacer up front to level it to the back.

My XREAS was working fine and I didn't want to put in a whole new suspension. It worked just fine and looked great. I've had that installed for about 1.5 years but now my XREAS is going out.

I am leaning towards installing the Toytec Boss suspension. Now, I'm trying to decide at what height I want to be at.

I'm not sure if the front spacer caused the XREAS to fail quicker than it should have but I've been told that it's quite possible it did. Take that for what it's worth as I'm not sure whether or not that's the case here.

I just ordered the 2.5 inch level kit. I would probably be fine with the 3, but just taken the safe route. I can still get big tires under it.

Ah, you beat me to it. To add, your stock caster will be in Speck in your ride will feel squirrely as hell in. You want to put your wheels as far forward as possible aim for + 4. Bestop upper control arms will not usually allow you to go to far off factory-spec,, but upper control arms will. Stay away from SPC ucas as they have a tendency to fail... although they claim they fixed a design flaw.

Gave my taillights a slight and subtle makeover and smoked them out just enough to blend in with blacked out look . Didn't want to give it the completely murdered out look. Didn't want to get that extra attention from Johnny law.
Got one more mod then I'm done. Gobi rack on order and that's it.... at least for a month or two. Haha. Dang this forum for creating a monster.

Not really a mod, per se, but installed some 265/70r17 Cooper AT3s (P metric, they don't carry 6-plys at many stores here...) on some TRD OR wheels I got from a forum member. Everyone likes pictures, so...
