Limited Edition Mod Thread

Which bracket are you referring to? There's a plastic piece that runs along the bottom side of the head lamps that don't need to be swapped out. The one's at the bottom front of the head lamps need to be swapped. See photo below circled in red.

There was a forum member selling his trail front bumper because he purchased a full steel aftermarket front end. He gave me all the parts I needed for the front bumper swap. I took it to a local shop to paint and it cost me $480. If you can find a front end with the same paint color, you'll end up saving a lot of money.

I also plastidipped the lower valence in black. I have a C4 fab low pro bumper on order so it will be going on when it arrives.

*EDIT additional info

You're also going to need to swap out several other pieces in the front bumper to do the conversion. You can reference 2nd Chance thread for everything you're going to need for the conversion. His build thread gave me the info and confidence to do this myself.
Thanks man, much appreciated! I'll dial up 2nd Chance's thread next...

Does the increased backspacing and offsett (yes i know its only 2mm) cause inerference issues with the TRD Trail wheels?

No rubbing, even at pre-lift. Sorry, I don't know about the offset. Also note, these are the older Trail wheels (pre TRD Trail). Don't know if they changed anything. Be aware that there is some variance with alignments so your experience may be slightly different. If there was rubbing, the fender liner mod would fix it if you go with 275/70.

More details provided in you in PM you sent.

Simple mods to my Gen 5.1 and 5.2

Gen 5.2; tires, leveling lift in front, tinted front windows (not in this pic) and Magnuson supercharger ( all dealer installed 'cept the window tint).

How does it drive with the leveling lift? I assume that's only on the front suspension? I haven't done much research but the way the truck sits does bother me.

I removed the LE rocker panels and installed the N-Fab Predator Pro steps.

I had no rockers for about 3 months until I was able to cut the rockers. I used Antman's instructions as a guideline.

It didn't look too bad without rockers at all but if you're willing to cut the rockers, I feel like it improves the look a lot.

I documented my process with pictures. Hoping to put that all together and post sooner rather than later if it would help others who are thinking about doing it.

Looking forward to seeing your thread.

Can someone send a link to the Antman mod?

Meant to post this here, swapped out the wife's Daystar and XREAS for 5100s and Dobinsons C59-448 & C59-325. Installing Camburg ball joint UCAs in the near future.

Tires are 275/55R20 with Spidertrax

This looks great! How much lift did this give you?

My next project is to do the Antman rocker mod. With this being done, are you able to mount any trail edition rock sliders? Is it the height of the Limited rocker trim that prevents rock sliders from bolting on?

I believe it's the LE rocker that doesn't allow for any sliders to be installed. It's my understanding that removing the LE rocker will allow you to install sliders.

To double check, I'd email the company of the slider you're interested in and run it by them.

It's a combination of the LE rocker trim and XREAS. I took off the LE rocker trim and replaced it with the TE trim. Then you'll have to move a couple of the XREAS lines out of the way for the slider install. Not a huge deal. Or, if you're going away from XREAS to another suspension like I did, just zip-tie them up and out of the way and your good to go.
Pretty much every slider will work with the TE trim as it's very much "high and tight" compared to the LE trim. Hope that helps...

Also OPOR sliders offered by MetalTech4x4 work with LE w/ XREAS and rockers left intact.

I'm thinking of selling my OPOR sliders and doing the TE rocker panel mod if anyone here wants to buy them and is local to SF Bay Area, CA. They're still in great shape and will be much cheaper than the $834+shipping that MetalTech is selling them for. PM me if interested, no rush.

Sorry, didn’t realize this question was for me. On my ‘13 I didn’t do any suspension mods ... the “rake” bothered me too. The front leveling kit was done by the dealer with no adverse effects what so ever. It’s a Revtech kit.

He is starting to bring out 5th gen gear. This is a 3rd gen Tacoma dome that fits the 5th gen T4R. Since replaced with the proper color for the T4R but these things are bright!

I actually just did a write up on the install and my thoughts on Daystars. It's a bit lengthy, but to sum it up, you'll still have pretty much the same ride: Those thinking about a Daystar lift with XREAS - My thoughts and install experience - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum

I did the Daystar spacer lift. When I was wheeling without it, I was dragging diffs n skid plates. 2.5” front 1” rear n it really improved my ground clearance. Would I have loved a suspension lift? You bet, but for $140ish it did the job

2019 4runner Limited seatbacks

Alright, I know this is for those modding a limited. I actually am trying to take something from the Limited -- the "backs" of the driver and passenger front seats.

On my TRD off road, I have the regular net back there and leather -- but on the limited, there's this hard poly carbonate shell with indentations for knees and a higher quality net.

From what I've found, it seems that I can unZip and remove the seat back for the front seats. Is this true?

I really want to find how I can buy the back cover to the front seats and add it to mine. Looks more rugged.

Also - would love to know if anyone knows what the color code is for the blue interior handle lights. I see there's a slit for lights inside my 4runner -- but no lights installed.

My in-laws 2019 runner has interior handle lights that match the blue color of all other lights.

I'm not sure if the seat backs can be swapped, best bet would probably be to find a wrecked limited in a junkyard and get the seat covers from it to try.

As for the handle lights, check out this thread: https://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/86370-sp8ball%C2%92s-mod-thread-stealing-other-poster%C2%92s-ideas-since-mid-2010-a-30.html#post780683
