@aginize. Can you post pics when done. I’m going to do that as well to the limited, and I think if you put in the 14+ trim you can get a different nfab part that tucks up better than the one designed for the limited low skirt.

Yeah I didn't like the options for the limited trim that NFab offered so I went with this method instead. I wanted actual sliders too so it worked out.

Might go with the Shrockworks trim as its cheaper than the dealer but I also want to put the front mudflaps on and I'm not sure if the Shrockworks trim will allow for the SR5/TRD front mudflap.

I'll post pics when I get it all set up.

Just trim the rocker, it looks so much better in my opinion. Recently trimmed mine in preparation for rock sliders to arrive.

How short did you trim it? Thinking of doing this on mine because new rocker trim doesn't seem worth it to me. What's the measurement from the bottom of the driver's door to the bottom of the cut? I guess that would be the easiest way to measure?

Conversion Journey

Finally got rear bumper sprayed and installed.... slowly moving along.

My dealer struggled with matching the paint... a shade too light (not enough yellow), but all the other work is so well done I kinda hate to respray...which they make make worse the 2nd time around...

Looks good! What was the cost to respray?

This is a new OEM rear bumper. Good price new so I went that route opposed to used. Dealer did it all for me this time around...I'm having physical issues lately preventing me from doing my own set up and install, minus paint.

Prime/Paint (070); Sensor relocate; and install was 500. 070 is blizzard pearl and they missed the tint a bit, so the actual respray will be $0.

Drove 3,038 miles to get this installed. Think it turned out pretty good. Don't want to add a light bar yet because I am not sure about cooling. Winch is back at home so I have another couple weeks and 3,038 miles to go

Thanks! I can get more pictures of the finished product but I only took like 3 pictures while building it. I was too busy enjoying spending time with my dad. He's slowing down a lot and I hadn't seen him in person in about two and a half years.

Has anyone here removed their 3rd row seating? I'm looking into doing this and replacing it with a base plate system. I don't want to spend a fortune on Goose Gear, and it looks like Sherpa's system is not on their site anymore. I'd just like to see some pictures if anyone has done it and any advice for making a DIY base plate for the cargo.

As requested. I need to figure out how to attach the fender liner to the plastic bumper up higher so I can cut the black plastic off the bottom in front of the tires but I haven't had time to do that or to install the winch yet. The steel bumper is only primed right now so I can take more pictures when it's comes off for base and top coat

i removed and sold my third row then built by own base plate and drawers.

I have posted some photos here before.

The base can work out really well. i used Baltic birch plywood. I had a sub base where fasteners would attached to the frame (via the existing threaded holes) and then a top piece that ended up being the bottom frame of my drawers.

In that picture it was just 2.5/1.5 spacer lift kit and spidertrax wheel spacers. Currently my setup is in my signature though!

First thing i did when i got my 4runner was rip those seats out and the back section flooring removes as well, you gain a whole bunch of space. I put some carpet down and the liner back down, kept everything in case I have to put it back together. I built a platform and sleep on that with the two remaining seats folded down.

My use case:
My vehicle splits time between salt lake city, utah, and northwestern wisconsin. Seeing winter and summer in either location, it regularly sees dirt, sand, snow and pavement. out of the box, its already plenty capable for my needs.

Because its being driven across the country somewhat regularly, Im most interested in ways to improve MPG. If possible, id like to look at much lighter 17s and tires that could help improve gas mileage without sacrificing much in terms of off-road capability. Id also like it to look nice. Is this possible? Does anyone have any experience swapping out to 17s with the goal of improving MPG? Our stock wheels and tires are HEAVY. Would love to hear about any experiences you may have. thank you for your input.

Posted this elsewhere, but in case you didn’t see it, swapped a Canadian SR5 front bumper onto the limited. Wasn’t sure if I’d like keeping fender trim white, but I love it. Sliders and rocker trimming up next.

Hey man, thanks for the reply. This is pretty much what comes on the vehicle stock, correct? I’m currently running the stock wheels and tires. I can get about 20-21 MPG on the highway. It sounds likes that’s pretty good for these old beauties, but I’d love to find reasonable and fashionable ways to squeeze even more out of it. Since I wouldnt be adding a lift, i was thinking that dropping down to much lighter 17s, with maybe the same yoko in a 17 would probably net me some great MPG gains. Might also look like hell. *shrugs*

I would like to share my build of my 2016 Limited. But so far, to the person asking questions about wheels and tires...
We went with 17" Ultra wheels and 275/65 tires. We decided to go with ATX grabber series because we live in the PNW and it gets a bit messy out there. However for regular driving I think a good all season instead of an all terrain would be better.

P.S. I've never been on a forum before so I don't know how to properly respond to anyone. LOL!

Also...what's a good photo hosting site to use to share (link) photos?
