Little black marks showing up

Recently, I've been noticing some random black streaks and marks of some type of glue or something.

It kind of looks like tar was put on there. Its hard to describe, its dry and its hard and it won't come off. Its barely noticable from a distance, but I'm just wondering what it is. The marks/streaks of the black stuff is no mroe than 1 inch and very narrow.

They go vertical and horizontally.

I can post a picture if anyone wants. Anyone know what it oculd be?

tree sap? road tar?

Goo Gone worked on tree sap that was on my truck. Now I avoid pine trees in the summer like the plague.

Try the clay bar first and only use the tar remover stuff if that doesn't work. Either way, make sure you coat with some wax when you're done because you will have taken that coat of protection off when you clean off the black marks.

or you can use meg paint cleaner it will remove all the black marks from your paint its works great i had it on my 4runner and used it and it remove all the swirls,scratches and black marks its great stuff and easy to use

Maybe I'll do it this weekend. But does anyone actually know what the heck those black marks are? More and more are now starting to show up.

I pave roads for a living.

I always yell at the guys who "strap" or "seal" with tar on roads open to traffic. Strap meaning, tar poured at joints before asphalt is layed to bind it to under surface.

Seal is term used for tar poured on adjoining pieces of asphalt after they have cooled somewhat, so moisture doesnt seep into/under the layed asphalt. Water/moisture will make asphalt
to break apart. Thus potholes

One guy I work with who will seal on opened roads to traffic while a $50k Mercedes sits at a red light. Light turns green the driver drives over the hot tar, watch the tar smear along the side of the car because the wheels pulled it up. This guy does it ALL the time too. It should be done on closed roads to traffic until cooled.

Even I scream at him, hes like "why you care, its not your car"

Use Citranella, orange peel cleaner,jus dilute it a lil with water.
That should do it. If not lil gas on a rag.
