Hey guys I just need a little bit of advise. I am a proud 3rd gen owner but need a little information. My brother has a audi a4 that is just super unreliable and seems to have to go to the dealership once every two weeks. He knows how great my t4r runs and it a little bit jelous. So he has been asking me what a good price would be for a 4th gen. And being a 3rd gen guy i have NO idea what a good price would be for a used 4th gen. Can you guys help me out? like how much would it cost to get one with 50,000 miles on it? Thanks a ton! hope you runners are runnin strong.

the best thing for him to do is check out autotrader, ebay and KKB.com they go to some dealers if he wanting to get a certified used, or just check craigslist.
The market is different in different parts of the country, so depending on where he is, the price will reflect that.

I think it's too broad of a range for anyone to give an estimate. The 4th gens have more expensive options like the V8 or nav packages so you should narrow it down to at least an engine size and any "must have" options

Prices seem to vary a lot regionally too... If he's buying in Chicago it'll take some time studying Chicago prices.

Thanks for the responses.

Yeah we will have to narrow it down. Basically his price range is 14k so I am not sure what he can get for that. It doesnt have to be fancey like nav is not a must. And he wont be doing any offroading.

id say with only 50k miles on it would most likely be an 07 to 09, & a rough guesstament would be 27 - 31. maybe look for an 06 for around 25. but if all hes got is 14 to spend, its gonna be more like an 03 or 04 with alot more than 50,000 miles on it. goodluck

I saw an 06 Sport V6 at the dealership nearby with 55,000 miles going for 21,999. Condition looks good overall, however don't know about the history. No leather or any other fancy options. I am in Massachusetts. I hope this info helps. (FYI 2 years ago I paid just under 23k for a 05 Sport V6 with just over 18k. Clean history and so clean inside and out that some people thought it was new. Gas prices close to $4.00 a gallon probably had something to do with the price at the time)

I'm shopping for a 4th Gen now and have been observing for a few months. The Edmunds.com True Market Value (TMV) pricing seems to be pretty accurate when I look at past sales and includes regional price adjustments. Also note the premium for Toyota certified use vehicles which is listed under the dealer price. They are typically a grand more than the dealer pricing but you get a 3 month, 3000 mile bumper to bumper and the factory power train warranty extended to 7 years, 100,000 miles.
