[MENTION=75328]DannyLlama[/MENTION], Your rig is looks great! I read the entire thread. I've been looking for some sliders and I really like your sliders. It appears that your slider comes more straight out like a running board instead of it being tilted or angle up closer to the body. I see image #3 shows you or someone stepping on the slider. Did you special order for the that size distance outside to outside of the square tube and the round tube or is that the standard distance they come in? I'm guessing that its about 5"? Just want to check before I order them. I want to copy yours, if its ok. Thank you!

I did have them space out to 5.5" , I think they come 4", so an extra 1.5", which worked out perfect and the wife was really happy as well, win win.
And yes, they don't angle up like most conventional sliders.

I also had them extend the rear plate an extra inch for more tread coverage.

From what I recall, someone else called in the order and referenced my order and shrockworks built them out the same. The only thing you have to make sure you need/don't need is the "bolt on gussets" if you don't have XREAS suspension, you don't need bolt on gussets on all 4 corners.

I referenced your built as well to have mine spec out the same way. My wife is tiny and she struggles a bit to get in the truck which is why I wanted a double duty sliders for protection and also aid as a step for her. Yup, a win win!
I have the Trail /KDSS so no gussets needed. I was told that it was going to take 3 months to complete the build out. Anyways I’ll post pictures when I get the sliders installed but it's a long wait before I get them.:bored:

I do need some suggestions on the placement of the front 4x4 emblem.. Is this good? what y'all suggest?

White sombrero looks good, the front license frame not so much. And the 4X4 looks unbalanced there. Suggest you move the license to the lower grille, before locating the 4X4.
 
Looks good Danny, do you have lighting plans for the front upper grill? If not, what about mounting it there on the lower driver side corner? I agree something looks out of balance when it's sitting where you put it right now on the lower grill area.

If i move the license place, it will leave 2 ugly holes in the "valance"
Any other thoughts?

Eddie, I am waiting on some lights for the behind the grill mod or that would have been a good idea...

Leave it off completely? :shrug:

Buy a plain black license plate frame? They are literally only 2-3 dollars at walmart, I know this because I have them, lol. I refuse to advertise for a dealership :)

OR, Plasti-dip the dealer frame black, LOL.

1engineer tips and tricks:
Anything you mount or attach low on the vehicle (badges, stripes, running boards, etc) will draw the eyes towards that and give the illusion that the vehicle sits lower than it really does. Anything that is mounted higher than the CL of the body, including front and rear, will draw the eyes upwards and give the illusion of a higher vehicle. Your choice.

I painted it white, I could paint it black but than it will just blend with the grill.
I guess I can just leave it off. :ohwell:

Just mount it at the very top of your windshield to "lift" the front end and level out the rake. I mean according to [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION], that's exactly what's going to happen visually right? :noidea:

Just food for thought, what if you plucked off the rear one, and stuck both of them on the side B pillars to replace the "Limited" badges.

Really not sure there's anywhere else for the front one to go if you upper grill is going to be used for the lights. And well a 2nd one would look awkward on either side of the vehicle if you don't have a matching one on the opposite side. Although, who's going to look at both sides of the truck simultaneously, amirite?

Just trying to help.
Keep that in mind as you look at vehicles driving around, especially how the designerd integrated the lights and such items like door handles and body creases and lines.

Hey [MENTION=75328]DannyLlama[/MENTION] was there a up charge for the "llama" designed slider/step? Out of curiosity what is the ground clearance of them? Did you get their trail trim or the Toyota trail trim when you did your conversion? Thanks, those llama sliders are awesome for those that want a step.

There was not an "up charge" for that design.
I did not get their trim, as I changed the entire trim to that of a trail.
If my memory jogs me correctly, they are about 17 inches off the ground, if you need exact, let me know and I will double check for you.

Don't need an exact measure, just curious how high up they are roughly, looking at a couple companies and need to maintain a step for the wifey (5'2") and kids (<3ft). I'm about to take out Xreas system for a lift so that won't be a deciding factor but being able to step on it will be important.
