For everyone that is wondering about the height of the ShrockWorks sliders.

Here's a video of my almost 2 year old, 3 foot monkey getting in to the truck. This should give most a perspective on how far up they sit with no lift.

Rigids

[MENTION=91899]Jhalko[/MENTION] Sorry, didn't see this before. Haven't done much since we just had a baby.

Anyway, so I finally got around to priming and painting the behind the grill bar from [MENTION=74569]SOcalTRAIL[/MENTION].... I test fitted the the 6" Rigids and it looks like i'm going to need to drill 2 holes to properly mount the 2 6" lights.

From this picture you cant see where the holes don't align.. I have a drill and drill bits. I was wondering if anyone thinks i shouldn't directly mount the lights to the bar, without using the brackets the lights come with.. Will there be a problem with the lights directly touching the bar?

Question #2, since this is my first light isntall, what do I need aside from a switch to properly connect the lights to the main battery?

Does that model of rigid light come with the relay built into the wiring? I have a couple rigid dually's and an SR20 I need to wire up myself, a relay is good and look at okki's build thread for wiring info. I have the rigid grills and you don't use their mounting hardware for that just bolt to it.

Check out air on board USA for Toyota switches. Thanks to [MENTION=50210]KVA[/MENTION] for that one and I also have a painless wiring harness to put in for a clean installation to protect everything, wiring seems more complex then you might expect but the folks on the forum have been great helping me.
 
For us non electrically inclined, the supplied Rigid wire harness/switch is really all you need. Run your lights, hook it to the battery, attach your relay somewhere under the hood, and run the switch through your firewall. One thing to take note of, the Rigid harness is not directly compatible with an OTTRATTW (or similar) switch. The adapters on the harness are to small for the connectors on the back of the switch. You would need to swap the adapters with a larger version.

Also congrats on the baby, mine are 3 and 5 and I have various parts in the garage I haven't had time to install myself!

Wiring

Just a thought -- wire the new lights to work with the switch for the fog lights, they will come on together and another switch is not needed.

I say this because now my fog lights are my off-road lights.

Are these brackets still available, and do they work (do we know?) for a '14? I have PMed SoCal before and never heard anything definitively. My lightbar could be more solid, and these look great if they work for a '14.

Those rigids should be super easy to wire up, they have good instructions, just map it all out if you are adding anything else or custom switches. When I mounted my dually's it took longer to install the lights then wire them up. They provide a good wiring harness, I went straight off the battery for now but when I put in the painless wiring harness it will be just extra protection and to simplify for the SR20 with room for a roof bar later, haha. I think the challenges with wiring are that you just have a lot of options of how you can wire and you have to map it out based on your setup.

But then where will he put his cool custom switches, that takes half the fun out if the mod!

That's an idea but i would rather have them separate :)

Not sure about it working with at '14, SoCal isn't making them anymore, from what i know, he isn't in a place to have access to those tools.

Picked up my first beefy skid plate, thanks [MENTION=50210]KVA[/MENTION] for the sale and the help with the install... ova's truck is a beast, the few photos on this forum don't do it justice... you need to do a build thread buddy, at least for the sake of photos of how clean all your installs are!

Anyway - Here's some photos. We tucked in the factory radiator plastic protective piece under, at some point I will switch it out with the filler plate fro RCI but not anytime soon. The OEM piece looks and functions fine for now, no rattling either.

Behind the grill lights to come soon, just need to find time to take photos at night .. Everything is 10 x harder to do with 2 kids. :juggle:

What!?! no pic with the lights on behind the grill...that last pic loosk like I can't aim anything, lol.

Those things are never coming off...

I'm sure he just got called away for the kids and we will see the finished product this evening. Haha

Now if you were just closer to Denver to help me sort out my wiring I need to do.

I've got three...as long as the police or fire dept. aren't at my house...everything is OK.
