Locking hubs

I was looking for a definite answer as to whether or not Aisin manual locking hubs (or any mfr actually) will fit/work on a 3rd gen? I heard rumors that they would with slight modification...? I have a 98 sr5 and would very much like to convert....thanks

The answer is yes, they will fit. But it's more than a slight modification.

ORS (offroadsolutions) sells a manual hub conversion kit.

Aisin hubs off a 1st gen tacoma (95.5-?) will work, but you have to swap spindles, CV's, etc. as they are all different.

Thanks guys. I don't usually like to start new threads to ask old questions that most likely have already been answered so I have been searching and reading. Just didn't find much info about why they WON'T work so I assumed that if they work for one IFS they work for all.....so what are the options for locking hubs? Is there any? Or is it just impossible? Thanks for your patience with a newb....
