Looking for a 4Runner

Hey everyone! Looks like I'm getting a 4runner. Been browsing for awhile, but my wife and I are ready to purchase. Looking for a 5th gen, lower miles, 4wd. Planning to make it a weekend warrior expedition rig to take on some intermediate trails and go exploring.

Anything particular to look out for or search for? We are not in a rush and want to get something that will last a long time. Thanks guys! Any help is appreciated.

Honestly look at a new versus a used one. The resale is so high on 4Runners I spent an extra 3k and for into a 2015 vs a 2013. Happy shopping.

where are you located? check out the for sale: vehicle forum area for members posting up their rides for sale. If i remember correctly [MENTION=70066]jam46283[/MENTION] has one for sale in alabama with some nice bells and whistles. and theres a REALLY nice built one in Houston (see here for autotrader listing). That ride is built out. You couldn't get a new one and build it for this price. i believe its [MENTION=107716]jpclark[/MENTION] 's ride (and i think so because he also has it listed in the FS forums here. theres also a red one in charleston, SC for sale and even one in CA. Just a search of the for sale:vehicle forum here and i have gone coast to coast haha.

Also, i know the consensus is going to be "buy new" but its all up to you and your preference. I bought used and have been more than satisfied with my purchase. I got a great deal and what i wanted (a well maintained, low mileage 4runner that i can enjoy for many years to come). I have family in the Houston area but live quite west of San Antonio.

I have found quite a few in the Houston area. I will be going shopping Monday to look at a few. I am leaning towards used (price reason), but I can get a brand new one for not much more.

Thanks everyone. Looking to a long term purchase and a slow build up into an awesome rig. I am a volunteer firefighter and work wilderness medical calls and wilderness search and rescue.

Just saw this, thanks for the mention. If you are interested in a 2011 model, I have a fully loaded trail edition with a really nice Icon lift and brand new BFG mud tires. Wholesale value is about $26,5 if you would rather have it without upgrades. With upgrades I could let it go for $29K. Also has a bumper to bumper transferable warranty still intact.
