Looking for a friend. WTB Toyota Tacoma double cab 2007 or newer, manual, 4WD

Good afternoon fellow T4R members,

I have a very good friend who is looking for a new truck for his college aged son so I thought I would put a feeler out to see if anyone had a Tacoma that they were thinking of selling.

Details:


MUST be a manual.
Southern truck (he lives in Mississippi and these are prone to rusting, so avoiding the north) something within 400-500 miles of the state.
4WD
150,000 or less miles
2007 or newer to avoid the v6 head gasket issue
Double or xtra cab
v6 or 4 cylinder
Budget of around $13,000

Please let me know if anyone has anything they were on the fence of getting rid of and I can put you two in contact with each other.
He is a stand up straight shooter guy that I have known for the past 12 years I went to his son’s football games in High school, his daughter’s cheer leading events, go deer hunting and fishing on his land every fall. I can vouch for him.

If a Tacoma can’t be located, a Nissan Frontier would do, but we all know who makes the best trucks

cargurus.com has a good search feature for these- can put in double cab, 4x4, transmission, bed length, miles, price, and distance from your location.

What you want is hard to find for sure. Manual especially, and with lower miles, double cab, year and price point.

There is a supply of frame replaced Tacomas always trickling onto the market up in the Northeast, that could be an option? If I was done right you get a lot of fresh undercarriage items- frame, bolts, brake lines, shackles etc. One dealer especially had like 10 frame replaced Tacomas on the lot when I was looking a while back.
