I see TE's often up here in the Northeast. There are a couple (Salsa Red, Silver, and a Mag Gray) that I see rolling around my local area.
I drove down to Long Island earlier this week for work and saw half a dozen stock ones down there....mostly Magnetic Gray.
I was up in Maine 2 weeks ago on the coast, and saw two up there.
If I were you, I would call the dealers up here NY/NJ and North and do a fly and drive....they must be available because I see a bunch up here.....and we have plenty of trails to use our gadgets on...yeah right!
When I purchased mine, I had negotiated a great deal (new price and trade-in value) but never actually committed to it. Then, when my car started having some issues I ran to the dealership to do the deal. The TE was sold, and they said they would honor the deal on a limited. I asked if they could locate one, none were around, none were on the boat..forget it.
A week later I stopped by, they asked me what I was doing there? I said "Have you found me a Trail yet? They said, "there are none available, but hold on". My salesman came back out of his bosses office and said "We'll do a search again, they just changed some model #'s, but you have to give me multiple colors to search because of the options I wanted".
Five minutes later, he came back and asked if I would take silver. I said sure, and he had the car to me 3 days later.
Be patient, call the Northeast, and get what you want!
It's all bull anyway! I understand regional allocation, but any dealer will get you whatever you want as long as there is a profit to be made somewhere in the deal!
If you want, send me a personal message and I will give you my salesman's and dealerships name.
