Looking for bolt on rock slider options/opinions? Or templates?

Well, mine are weld on but Jerry makes some top notch products whether you go weld on or bolt on. His sliders are very very stout (as is all his other products) and they have a unique style which is what I wanted. I also got them because it was during a sale I believe (which he often has great sales). I would expect over a month or 2 wait right now. I ordered LCA Skids during his black friday sale and they're just now being powder coated. Business is boomin' for him.
 
Personally I like the bolt on idea over the weld on just for the rust protection. If you get good penetration on the weld you are loosing your coating on the inside of a boxed frame, which is basically impossible to re-coat at that point.
 
Hey just wondering how far out from the body your sliders go? I'm going to meet with. My buddy and we're going to talk design tonight. See if it's cost effective to build.

i always like to imagine what would happen if a massive tree fell on my truck and i was forced to try to remove everything and put it on a new rig, how that would work out....i like the bolt on idea as well... you know in case that ever happens to me!:rofl:
 
Yep Shrockworks makes bolt ons. I picked up a set of these from my neighbor (who incidentially has an identical black 01 4x4...we look like twins) but he had these on his truck for a while but then added a body lift, so ended up ordering a different set and made me a deal on these.

I was originally going to go with either Savage or BAMF since they are both 'local' for me but couldn't pass this deal up. Took me about 2 hours to mount up all by myself. Drilling the frame was easy, just start small and work your way up to 1/2 inch.

Fishing the nuts onto the bolts with the supplied 'bolt tabs' was a little cumbersome but once you figure it out it's easy.

So are the ones that shrockworks sells for the 3rd Gen bolt on? Or are they listed under the Tacoma section? Also, I've heard that you have to drill and don't have to drill for these, which is it?

Bolt on, have to drill. Not hard, nuts kind've annoying but not bad as mentioned above. Shrockworks built them to work with my body lift and made them a tad longer for me 'cause that's what I wanted. Almost took more time to prep and paint them than to stick them on by myself.

Well I realise that there is a Canadian supplier just across the water from me so It looks like I'm ordering the trail gear ones asap! thanks for all the Input.
