I've had on in my 911 for 3 years now and it works very well, I only use the green setting as red is to sensitive for first gear.
Basically Red Bull for the accelerator pedal.

I don’t think I’ll ever get these “it needs more power” threads.... 

I KNOW I don't 'need' more power - I just want it.

A supercharger or two will be out in the near future to increase the power outputs of these dual vvt-i engines.

So, Gary, which will you install - TRD or URD?

It really, really does. This generation of 4Runner is almost as big as my dad's 03 Sequoia. This engine and the way they mapped the throttle and gears was a mistake on Toyota's part IMO.

And a lot of people want to say "get something else if you don't like it" but I love it otherwise. I fell in love with he looks of the 5th gen the first time I saw one. I love the interior, the styling, the limited is range rover cool minus the yuppie stigma. I can't think of a new car on the market today that I want more........except what I mentioned above.

It's loud and it seems like it's working its booty off, but I've been pretty impressed with the power from my 5th gen. It's no V8 in it's torque-iness (is that even a word?) but it pulls just fine.
The accelerator is a lot like the brakes, I've noticed. They work great, but you've gotta kinda stomp on them.

I wouldn't call it a mistake. However they did tune the truck for one type of driver, those wanting peak efficiency. What they should have provided as an option was a sport mode where it would remap throttle response and shift points for peak performance.

Honda Pilot vs T4R

We have both an 09 Pilot and an 11 T4R LE. I had to pull our ski boat once with the Pilot. Once. Never do that again. The Honda engine actually has more HP, but like many Japanese vehicles, the engine has been tuned for HP versus torque. I prefer a much more balanced configuration, where the HP and torque are about equal, like the T4R. I have no problems pulling my boat, both on the road and in and out of the water. I came from a high-powered V8 BMW X5, so I appreciate the lack of V8 grunt, but I definitely got over it once I learned how to tell the T4R what I wanted it to do. Also, if you pull something on the highway, shift it OUT of overdrive, and you'll be much happier.
