Looking to buy a lift kit! Need some opinions

I want to lift my 97 4runner but nothing too big. What are all my choices? Im not going wheeling in this vehicle a lot. I just want a good look and a good ride. Nothing too expensive. I also may want to put 285/75/16s on it but i still the the 265/75/16s would look good with a mild lift. What are my options? I really would like to have good ride quality. Suggestions would help a lot. Thanks

The Slee setup is OME and it's a 2.5" lift.

Slee offroad has a 2.5" kit. I will need a panhard bracket and a diff drop right????? What size tires can I fit with 2.5" of lift? Oh and is this ome setup decent? Will it look funny if i run a 265/75/16 with this lift? Is there anything im missing? Oh this is my fishing buddy!

when I had OME 891 rear coils and 2.5 inch spacers up front, with the OME 881s it might give like .5 inchs more up front then what I used to have.

but now I run tundras with 2 top out spacers in the front for about 3.5 inchs and im running a 2 inch bl with 285s that have more room between the tire and wheel well then that current pic with 265s did with the old setup.

Here's the kit we do 96-02 3rd gen lift kit

I can get any lift there is. The OME is good, but it all depends on what you want to spend.

This lift 2.5" that works out great and is very, very reasonable.

I don't think you need a panhard bracket or diff drop with the 2.5" lift.
3" seems to be the magic number for those mods.

you dont need the diff drop kit but for the price I would recomend it I did not do one on mine and I am replacing my cv boots now it just wheres them out faster.

i am dragging up an old post , i now have a 99 4runner and looking to lift it as well.
lOOKS like i will be going with the old man emu lift but there is so much other stuff out there now. tundra coils and LC coils. I am hung up on what to use but i def want 3 or more inches of lift out of a kit

there are a lot of options out there. i researched a lot before i did mine, and glad now i spent the time. i ended up going with the ultimate coilovers up front from toytech for 3" in the front and 7 3/4 wrap LC coils with the bilstein long travel 5125 shocks in the rear for about 5". front diff drop, extended rear brake line, and 1.25" wheel spacers. it clears 285/75-16 duratracs with no rub. its close, but it clears. you dont want to go more than 3" in the front to avoid any extra stress on the cv's. its bad enough even with the diff drop. it sits just how i wanted it, and the ride is excellent, much better than stock. i would recommend this setup to anybody. i also recommend getting tires from discount tire direct. i got a great price, and we had a little problem with road force numbers. they sent me a couple of replacements for free to make sure i had a really good set for my runner. they were great to deal with.

nice ! do you have pics of your rig? did you piece together your suspension or did you buy it all from one company?

Best deal/option IMO is the Tundra 5100s with the TRD coils up front (3") and some LC 7-7.5 wraps out back. I first installed the stock Tundra setup with a spacer up front, and OME 60028 shocks in the back. The ride sucked, and jarred over every bump.

Last week I changed the front out with the 5100s and took out the spacer, and changed out the 60028s with some Monroe LC shocks ($35). The difference is night and day. It glides over bumps in the road...rides better than my dads new truck. I've never had a problem with rubbing with the 285s I've got.

I will also recommend DTD for tires...been using them for years with no complaints.

this is my 2000 t4r. sorry it took me so long to reply. hope this gives an idea. i got all my stuff from toytec except the rear coils. they are from the junkyard, but the toytec superflex coils should be almost the same as far as lift.

These are still available and the truck doesn't ride as rough after installing. Especially in the rear.
