I just purchased a 2005 Black sr5, one of the first things I wanted to do was get a sport hood. I really like the look of the sport hood with the hood scoop. I know it's not functional but it gives it such a more aggressive look. Has anybody here done this and if so where did you get the hood. I'm thinking the best thing to do is order it from Toyota, get the paint code and have a body shop paint the hood but I'm sure this is going to run me quite a bit of money. I know a pick and pull is a option but that might be alot more effort than I'm looking too put into this project. So...Anybody have any insight on this? :thanks:

Any when you order the hood it comes painted from toyota? I'm thinking no but anybody know otherwise?

No, it'll need paint. Only the plastic parts like flares, mirrors and cladding are painted.
Personally if you can afford it I would do it. I love the sport hood scoop , looks more aggressive IMO.
That price is not bad , heck I paid 600 for a fiberglass hood , plus shipping and it still had to be fitted , prepped and painted .
I say go for it !!!! also check bone yards or get on the web for some of the boneyards .
