Lost my 5th gen to another buyer at the dealership

I bought the 4Runner last night and love it. It's like a completely different car than my 4th gen SR5. I'm very happy with the decision and can't wait to go on a trip and start making some memories with the new rig. I have an appointment to tint the front windows next Tuesday and will post some pics at that time.

I'm okay with the 300 miles, in a few months that'll be nothing and pretty meaningless. I asked about trucking it up and they wouldn't due to the price. They detailed it and filled the tank though so that was nice. Loving the BP.

A 4runner will easily go 200,000 miles. I wouldn't be too concerned about an extra 300.

Its not that, I just wouldnt want some punk driving my new vehicle 300 miles to me. God only knows what they do when transferring vehicles.

my 2010 Limited came from a dealership 80 miles away...but then again I trust my toyota guys who went to get it.

I thought about that too but figured it was just a 4Runner and not a sports car or something they'd thrash around on the freeway. Presumably whoever drove it up does such things pretty regularly and driving a 4Runner up the freeway isn't really a big deal.

^^ This. Around here all the transport drivers and courtesy van drivers are retired guys .... and I know how we drive.

Congrats! That sounds like a really good deal. I guess it was $34.5 out the door right? What was the sticker price?

What dealership did you buy from? I am in the market for either an SR5 4x4 or LTD 4x4. I totaled my 1998 LTD about 3-4 months ago with 324,000 miles. I swore it would get to 400k. I didn't take really good care of it, drove it hard, and it liked it. I really miss it. It was a great SUV.

Does anyone know how the navigation works? I also have a 2010 Tundra and HATE the NAV because I can't use it if I am rolling more than 3-4 MPH for "safety" issues. I sure hope the NAV in the 4R's aren't like that.

I'm not familiar with the Tundra NAV as my 2006 didn't have it, but on the 5th Gens, you won't be able to punch in address while you're moving. Only when stopped. Probably a good thing. You can still change to different screens and whatnot.

Philsey - that's exactly what the dealership said, that it was retired folk who do the transport. I figured they were just trying to make me feel better about it.

BlueDog007 - I wish it was 34.5 OTD. That was what I got them down to for the truck alone, the OTD price came out to 37 and change after tax and junk fees.

They told me when I was tossing numbers back and forth that someone else was looking at it but I didn't believe them. In any event I really wasn't 100% sure of the deal as I really didn't want to pay for 4x4.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the BP 4x2 limited for 34.5 w/ rubber mats. I'm selling my old one myself via craigslist or ebay motors if I don't get any bites after a while on craiglist. I'm really excited and can't wait to pick it up tomorrow after work.

Sounds like you got a great deal...you will love it. I have the same vehicle, bought in late April. Got a few more dealer installed options, so my OTD price was a bit more than your $37K....but hands down it's my most favorite vehicle of all that I've owned (10). All the bells and whistles on the LE is what sold me, plus the X-REAS is great. I don't do any off road so I didn't want to pay the extra for the AWD. ENJOY!
