I like your 4R. you know where I am at on the stages, since you were responding to my thread. I am interested in knowing how you like your suspension? I am in Baldwin County AL and there is no one in this area. I joined the FL 4 Runners FB group and created one called Gulf Coast overland or overlanding. I did it when I 1st moved down here with my Xterra, but now bought a 4 Runner and I am planning on doing some stuff to this thing once the heat gives. Once I get a lift and tires I would be interested in going on a few trips.

I have been very pleased with the suspension. It has handled everything I have asked of it offroad and has been a huge improvement on road. I considered heavier springs for the rear but it carries my typical load very well. The good thing is that theres a few options for springs if I ever decide I need them.

Recent updates include:
Diode Dynamis “tail as turn “ mod. This modifies the tail lamps so an extra pair of reverse lights can be used where the factory blinker lived. I bought diode dynamics bulbs also on their 4th of July sale and now have about 3000 lumens when she goes in reverse.
And..the $5 in 5minute mod to add auot dimming feature to dash lights.
By the end of the week I should also have some magnetic mounts installed for concealed carry storage.
And... I ordered the console tray/ organizer/ glove box organizer, and a grit guard for my wash bucket during Amazon Prime day. My items werent on sale except the grit guard and a coleman burner for camp coffee.

The covid stay at home stuff has me doing some upgrades. I finally installed the Yaesu HAM radio, Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro fogs, Rago rear window molle panels, and. Rigd offroad hitch mounted tire carrier. The carrier has a drop down frontrunner table that has come in very handy so far. I also had to replace the 285 bfg K02s. They had 78000 miles on them and still looked great, but wet road handling had gotten exciting. I opted for BFG KM3 this time and like them so far.

Needs more beefyness! Just kidding it's looking good. I have a surprise inbound but I have no clue how to get it on, it might involve me taking a 8 r trip to tampa since thats the closest where I might be able to get some help. Let me know how the tires do in the water. I am eying up the Yokohamas geolander M/ts or General grabber X3's.

I took a trip to North Georgia to test run new gear in March this year. I took 25 days off beginning mid August and ran up to South Dakota to begin the trip. Points of interest where I spent time? Badlands National Park, Custer State Park, Black Hills NF, Mt Rushmore, Billings, Bozeman, and Mizzoula Montana. Glacier National Park. Whitefish. Beartooth Pass to Yellowstone. Teton Pass to Grand Teton National Park. Then on to Colorado and Rocky mountain National Park. I took the Enchanted Rockies Trail from there ...Boreas Pass was beautiful. When I got to Hwy 50 I crossed the state to Ouray where I woke up to snow and drove to Yankee Boy Basin. Then Black Canyon of the Gunnison and then crossed again to regain the Enchanted Rockies Trail to Medano Pass and Great Sand Dunes NP and then stayed the trail to Taos where I turned for home. It was a helluva a trip. Nearly 7000 miles. I turned over 100,000 miles in my t4r on the ride home. I did this solo and split time between camping in beautiful places and sleeping it off in hotels due to altitude sickness. Id do it again. Right now.
I retired the 4runner to recreation use only when I got home and am currently tooling on a 3.6R Subaru Outback for lighter adventures.

Spent a weekend in October 2020 with Peach State Overland on a Fall Color Run in Tennessee.
I have several projects lately on the build.
-SD Mount and Switch Pro
-midland GMRS to go along with the current HAM for trail comms
-Snorkel and pre filter
-SSO front bumper/winch/lightbar

They did a run to Kisatchie in February and are trying to schedule more trips every couple of months for locals to get together and meet, do a little offroading, and camp overnight.

I have a 2010 Trail. I live just west of Baton Rouge. 4wd Four Runners are rare in Baton Rouge, although I am starting to see more of them in the last few years. I go through Dallas 2 or 3 times per year, because I go off-roading in Colorado. I don't go off-roading around her any more because this gumbo mud gets into all of the seals.
