The Entune and Bluetooth systems don't really work that well. The Pandora app in Entune rarely works. Sometimes it works just fine, but most of the time everything looks fine on the display (I can start it up, it appears to play tracks, change stations, skip tracks, etc...) just can't hear any music.

Streaming music via Bluetooth is also hit or miss. Tracks will pause for no reason, then I can't restart them. If I skip to the next track, It just pauses again...

Super frustrating considering everything Bluetooth related is fully functional in my non-Entune 2014 Tacoma (work truck). Never had any issues in my 2011 Corolla either.

I guess I'll take it in to the dealer one of these days and hope that they don't tell me the problem is with my iPhone. That is all! :yo:

Any suggestions?

Id try to eliminate all possibilities so the dealer cant blame your phone and push you out the door. Have you checked if you have any outstanding iphone updates?
 
I don't know if you use the regular pandora app (non entune) but mine does the same thing as yours if the regular app isn't closed in the background. In other words only have entune app open. This is an iPhone btw.
 
Everything on the iphone is up to date. The pandora problems are with both the onscreen toyota Entune app (with the pandora app closed on my phone), and with streaming via bluetooth audio from the pandora app on my phone (with entune both open and closed).
 
Mine is giving me similar issues too. Streaming music via Bt results in constant freezes and the pandora app rarely works. This was all after switched to iOS. Everything worked fine when I was using android so I'm really thinking it's an iPhone thing.
 
Pandora works great on Android for me. Nexus 5 on 4.4.4 KitKat. It has an issue every now and then, but for the most part it is trouble free. Bluetooth streaming on its own works prefectly.
 
don't try to run the native app and have entune on the phone, the entune version will try to run on top of the native app.

Delete the entune app on my phone,run pandora by itself on the phone, then use the phone as a bluetooth streaming audio device?

either run the native Pandora app or the entune version. I have zero issues running the entune Pandora app.

the biggest issue I have is when the entune app doesn't load into memory correctly on the phone. then everything related to entune goes bonkers or quits working.

the only way to resolve that is to shut off the vehicle and wait for the entune app to stop on the phone and restart the 4runner. force stopping entune on the phone doesn't do squat since the vehicle initiates the startup of the entune app on the phone. if you force stop it, the phone never receives a start command unless you shut the vehicle down.
 
Problem solved. I deleted the Entune app on my phone, deleted the phone from the truck, deleted the truck from the phone, re-paired the two, and only use the pandora app on my phone as a bluetooth audio source. I don't think I'll miss entune considering it is basically it's just a suite of dumbed-down smartphone apps. Only problem is I can no longer use my vehicle to check in on facebook...
