I dont have the part #, they didnt give me it.

Seems reallllly high for an actuator. But that's how OEM goes, I guess. In the meantime, I'm sure you're fine w/o locking center diff's. I hope you can get something paid for, or some happy medium.

i cant drive it because its partially engaged, i cant crank the wheel as it will bind, it also wont disengage. So im literally stuck. Also my price on the actuator is 760 something, which is employee pricing. So the price of that actuator is ridiculous to begin with, let alone the labor.

sadly, if toyota wont good will it, its going to sit for a long time. Hell, might even talk to the owner and swindle a trade.

Update:

Talked to the service manager and she was able to get Toyota to goodwill the parts if i paid the labor. I felt that was very fair and i am very appreciative. Parts are ordered and will be fixed tomorrow.

I got lucky, so im very happy so far with how things have happened.

I'm confused, why did Toyota give you free parts? how long ago did you buy that 4Runner?

6 months. I also worked there for a few years and bought many cars through them through the family. My gf also works there.

i brought up the fact that i was told and shown per inspection sheet this is working. Which proved to be false because the chewed wires. So they wanted to help me out. If it wasnt at 103k miles i probably could have gotten everything covered.

Good to hear! Don't let breakdowns get you down. After all, we bought used trucks that are 9+ years old, so things will happen. But we were smart enough to not buy new, so we saved tens of thousands of dollars which we can put towards repairs. And MODS of course! :bounce:

I cycle mine once a month or so but I just did it again in the parking lot while reading this on my phone.

Im just glad i know 4lo actuator works. Now my CDL will. ill have to cycle it once a month now too.

I'm working on it, I just need to invest in some AT tires this summer. I'm slowly converting my "towing" 4Runner into a wheeling one. got cleaned out on maintenance costs last month so that delayed it a bit.
