I have been normally going to the same dealer for my service as living in nyc there is nowhere to do maintenance on my own car, I asked the dealer about lubing the driveshaft/grease fittings and they said they never do this. I called another dealer and they also confirmed that they no longer do this although they acknowledged it to be in the service manual. Do dealers normally not perform this service and for those that cant work on cars do you take it to independent mechanics?

As stated above there is nothing to grease on the 2WD, correct? Does that includes front suspension/steering end, also no zerk fittings there?

Just did this last night and can confirm this. Why in the world is it so hard to get the grease gun off the zerk? I thought for sure I was going to break something!

While I was under there I found I also have a torn CV boot. Hitting 90,000 miles on this car has not been a good experience so far!

The grease gun has an adjustment built into the nozzle that clips onto the zirk. Loosen the tip of the nozzle slightly and it will be easier to remove from the zirk, conversely if the nozzle falls off the zirk too easily tighten it up slightly. A little playing around and you'll find the sweet spot, nozzle will clip on easily and pop off easily.
