Just curious, why did you choose to import a 4runner to Japan, when all of the good stuff is available to the Japanese market, like the LC70 or Prado. Even though the 4runner is initially cheaper, isn't it expensive to import, and make street legal over there?

For me, I would think a lower trim Prado, with a diesel and manual transmission would be infinitely more attractive then the 4runner the US gets.

For Example, this Prado GX, with a 1KD-FTV, and a Manual Transmission is $50,000 AUD, which converts to $38,000 USD, which puts it in the price range of the US 4Runner.

I think so. LC70 and Prado are great cars.
But I like the 4runner, 'cause design is very cool.
Also, I like the rare car. I hardly see the 4runner in Japan.

It is true that when the 4runner imported, it becomes expensive.
There are a lot of Japanese who would like to get on 4runner, tacoma and tundra.
But there are a lot of Japanese who choose other cars.

prob due to usa import rules. you can take a usa spec into japan but you cant take a jdm spec into usa.

this just my speculation, not actual info.

I think JP toyota's car isn't good design. US toyota's car is cool design.

What modifications did it take to make the FJ lift fit?

I'm not modification.
But I'm not exchanging an upper link, 'cause an upper link hit a fuel tank.
If a link is exchanged, processing is needed.

I removed a KDSS connector, light of KDSS lit up.

Just hit the button beside the "quote" button in the lower right hand of a post. This button has a green "+" sign in it and will allow you to quote multiple posts in only one of yours. After you hit the "Multi Quote" button (the one with the green "+" sign) on the last post you wish to quote, hit the regular quote button. This will guote multiple posts and put them in one post for you.

I used 16" wheel before.（TRD wheels 16 x 7.5J +10, BFG MT 315/75R16)
But there were some problems.

I have put a wheel spacers 1.7" Hub Centric in front, and I shaved front calipers.
But there was little space between front calipers and wheels.

I have already changed 16"wheels into 17"wheels.

Front and side camera

My 4runner has many blind spots.

So, I set up a camera and monitor.

Camera and monitor help me always in the city riding and offroading.

According to that picture, several folks in Japan is running a 6" lift. Seems to be all the rage there.

6" lift with 35s results in a pretty tall 4runner/FJ. I've seen one FJ (in person) setup like that here. Not a single 5th gen 4runner (yet). Well, there was the mall crawler with 37s, but that does not really count.
