MAF Conversion Wiring? '02 MAF in a '98

Swapping the sensor to let more air flow thru.. makes you waste more gas?:flamethrwoer2::guitar2:olice::jump: lol.. Sorry, My 3yr old daughter wanted me to pick a bunch of emoticons. lol.

Haha...'moticons. So reading the posts and wondering-
better, same or worse mpg? Other quirks, cels, etc?
Have junkyard newer bits sitting in the basement since seeing UY thread for when the 96's maf needs replacing.

For me MPG's been the same. Fuel trims jumped but that's because a whole lot more air is coming in now. The jump is mostly only at idle and then tapers off as the speed rises (which is why my smog numbers were high).

Other than that just better breathing. Note that I have a supercharger, that was the main reason why I did it.

Okay.. so more air = more fuel.. because computer needs to keep the right ratio right?
So you're saying it's only really using more gas at idle and not driving?
Or you're just comparing it to your normal operation with your charger?

Maybe for us without a charger.. we'd notice a drop in MPG?
