Magnaflow or Flowmaster?

Definitely go with a flowmaster single-in-single-out, 40 if you want loud, haven't heard 50 but i bet it sounds good as well just a little less aggressive. It might have something to do with the length or maybe the way our V6 is setup but exhaust sounds great on V6 4runners in my opinion.

If you do the resonator cutoff it will make it slightly louder(just barely) but will allow you to sweep your exhaust out to the side which will help to eliminate the rotten egg smell. I can roll my window down and not have the smell unless it it full pedal to the floor.

If I dont sweep it out to side will car def get rotten egg smell while driving?

I had amber leds to replace the stock drls but had to revert back to original,

did the LED's fill out the reflector much better than stock DRLs? cuz my driving lights suck... Why'd u drop back to original?

alex56. with your 50 series is it loud in the car while driving. is resonator on or off? how much it cost to arrange exhuast pipe

Its moderate, i also have many other engine mods that boost the noise inside the car as well so its kinda difficult to give a good example lol... Resenator is GONE! its worthless! Whole custom Cat back Exhaust system was about 750 dollars a few years ago... Headers were about 450

DONT get the super 40! it will sound terrible more like a cherry bomb, the 50 series SUV or delta flow from flowmaster are defenatly the most toned down mufflers with low resonance if any at all, it is a 4runner not a truck..i always have that in the back of my mind :hatsoff:

EDIT: dont look at my exhaust pipe in my signature picture, its sagging real low after the BL, I had it re fabed and tucked up under/dumped out the rear fender a little while ago to where you can only see about 2" of the exhaust tip.

i have the flowmaster in my V8

gained nothing....no HP nor MPG.

but can't beat the sound...Nothing sounds like it.

and its $95 on amazon....

If you have an exhaust shop weld it up and bring in your own muffler you buy online it shouldn't be over $50 for the welding... assuming you're keeping the rest of the pipe.

i have decided to go with a flowmaster 50 series and remove resonator as well. still debating exhaust tip. thanks for all the help!

let me know your thoughts if 50 series with V6 would sound good/bad

My vote is for a Magnaflow. I have the 12256. It has just enough growl to know you modified things, yet subtle enough to not be obnoxious for the daily driver.

i just got a flowmaster super 40 and even though i still have the resonator it is the best sounding exhaust for a good price to. it was less than 200 bucks even after installation. Best purchase i've ever made.
