Maintenance Required Flashing

OK I have a 2012 LE with 4500 miles on it, this morning when I started her up I noticed my "Maint Req" light flashing, it flashes for 8 times then goes out.

I know there is lots of threads on this forum about the 5K service VS 10k for the first service and I don't want to bring all that up again.

I am going to book it in for MY dealerships recomended 5K service (as it's free anyway), it just strikes me that it's kind of close to the 5000 mile mark, do you think the dealerships program the ECU to flash the Maint Req light, or is it simple/maybe something else?

The maint light is just set as 5k. It blinks at start up when you get to 4500 to warn you that maintenance is due soon. At 5k it will be on solid all the time. Your 5k service should just be a rotation. 10k will be oil and rotate.
