Time and word of mouth is the only way without incurring the potential costly charges involved in advertising especially when you are not intending on making any sort of profit from it what so ever.
In past experiences with other boards, they didn't just explode over night. It took a few years to become the 13000 member site they are today.

You have to understand this forum is relatively new... It's only been in existance in a short period of time and Thai has done a wonderful job of letting it grow this far 
We should be happy and just time take it's toll and I'm sure this site will be rollin even more!!!

Thai has done a great job w/ search engine placement... it comes up #1 in google and yahoo when using keywords of "toyota 4runner forum"... (#2 in altavista) and in the top 10 of most others...
I think a sticker on our rigs will be the best form of public advertising. It'll get seen where ever we go and where ever we park... I'm sure we've all caught folks checking out our 4runners when coming out of a store, etc... (at least I have)...

Stickers would be the best way to go I think.
Ryan at www.grafxwerks.com makes up mostly anything you want and he can even get badge overlays for most vehicles too. Makes custom brake light covers for people and logo's if you want them
A logo in a nice font saying "www.toyota-4runner.org" would look nice on the side cargo windows.

Guys/Gals,
Since nobody else was showing any initiative on the stickers, I've sent a note to Ryan to get a quote on some website decals... I'm assuming a font similar to what the site uses in the banner... or a basic arial or helvetica font will likely suffice. I'll post response when I receive it and we can go forward from there!

I dont own a 4 Runner yet, but I have purchased a few decals from Ryan for my gf's Pontiac AWD Vibe. Good vinyl material and it if ever cracks or breaks, he will replace it for free. He stands behind his work.

I think it would be a great idea on getting stickers and even shirts with logos. We will look into it. Also, I noticed some sites have a power buy, where a company will give us a discount. Keep the ideas coming.

T Shirts is an awesome idea.
How about having a t shirt contest where people submit their entries and all the members vote on them? The the top 2 winners, have their t-shirt design actually made and get a free one for winning and then that design will be up for sale then to all of us?
Might have to tweek the rules a little for certain number of colors and a standard t shirt color and style to keep the costs down, but I think this could work.

Hey all, stickers will be available soon (hopefully by the end of this year). This was put on the back burner but my sticker guy is working on it once again. As was discussed in an earlier thread, our plan was (and still is) to mail one out for free to any member who asks for one. I will also look into creating an online store at cafepress for t-shirts, mugs, etc. Stay tuned
